Governments will use people in this country, abroad or as in the case of asylum seekers and other immigrants end up using them here. They 'use' millions of us every day - we should all get together and take on the Government, not squabble over who is taking jobs and driving down wages.
For most of us - immigrants or not - the wages are poor, the taxes too high and public services (transport, the NHS, dentistry etc) either non existent or inadequate. And there's no opposition at the moment. They try to distract us or scare us all to death with their identity card scheme, their war on terror, or their wars on 'anti social behaviour' - whilst steadily ripping apart the fabric of our lives without so much as a by your leave.

There are shortages in the workplace in certain jobs, and, up until now, the government has been happy to let everyone in who wants to come in, with no checks being made at all as to suitability.
It is a fact, that amongst this group, terrorists have come here and have been allowed to walk our streets, and claim benefits, due to the liberal attitude of our government, with only "The Thin Blue Line" between us and them.
We need to raise our game, implement our laws effectively, without judicial interference, and hope and pray we can search out and deport these people, before they do us harm.

Do you mean as a reserve army of labour? Fair? To whom? It's fair to capital, reduced wages = increased profits. No change there, then. They say all's fair in love and war. It's a matter of equilibrium, I guess. Poor sods.

It has always been so, even back to the times of slavery (and they were'nt asylum seekers).
If you feel agrieved, use your vote, question your
MP, ditto your Councilors. Don't take non decisive clap trap.
Do this before the equal opps industry make a law that you can't even mention asylum seekers.

~Why would one be so naive as to use the word "fair" in a question concerning the actions and power of Government?
