My grandpa wants to buy me one until I get the money for the body kit and parts for my Acura Integra. I have NO idea what year it is, but I was just wondering if Ford Rangers are any good in general.

It's selling for $2000, so I'm GUESSING it's from somewhere in the 90's.

I have had mine for almost 10 years and thank God, I have never had any problems. Every Ford I have ever owned has been an excellent vehicle.

But you will get different answers from different people depending on what they prefer

on manual transmission trucks there are three rubber shifter rod plugs that have to be changed and fill the transmission right away before you drive very far. And I mean right after you get it home. Not expensive and not hard to do right on top rear behind the shifter on the transmission under the truck. You will love the little trucklet to haul the acura parts around. Fords Ranger are not special but if you take it easy drive slow and normal they last good. Rangers are not race trucks especally with the 2.5 L four cyl. 3.0 V-6 isn't fast either the 4.0 L V-6 is ok But trucks are tools to use.

Find what year it is, the late 90's are just like the ones around today and are much more reliable, and also try to get a V6 Ranger.

Ford Rangers are pretty durable vehicles that Ford hasn't had a lot of problems out of. If the maintenance has been kekpt up you shouldn't have any problems with it.

Of course it depends on how it was maintained and treated by the previous owner. But,overall the Ranger is a very good truck.Ford, believe it or not, still builds the best truck on the market.

if it is a four cylinder it doesn't have much power but has great fuel economy. the six cylinder are pretty peppy but use a little more gas. all in all from personal experience a ranger can be a very dependable truck whether old or new as long as it is in good mechanical shape'

My family has always owned a ranger in one form or another down through the years. Excellent vehicle, never had one problem, tough little trucks.

The early 90's weren't that great. Too many computer problems and such. Think Ford experimented where to put that computer every year, and is hard to trouble shoot when it goes wrong. Good luck.

I would avoid the early models with the 2.8 Liter V6, those motors were known to self destruct, the later models are good little pickups.
