i dont think it has to do with suction power i think they get scared cause its loud and it moves

No. The dog is frightened by the noise it makes. You can't hear how loud it is to a dog's sensitive ears. The high speed motor makes a lot of high frequency noise.

I have 2 dogs one is a little dog and the other is a medium sized one. The bigger one hates the vacum but the little one doesn't mind. I think it's a protection thing.

Usually its the noise and the suddenness of the noise. Our dog hated ours until he got grommed and they vacumed him with a quiter version. Now he jumps up and down when someone goes to vacum and we have to vacum his fur first of he whines like a baby!
