In one of my last questions regarding morals, someone made the statement that as long as the laws of the land are not violated then the act is okay. Since there are no municipal laws in regards to adultery, does that mean it is okay for a person to commit adultery?

This question is one of sarcasm. The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful wife whom I love with all of my heart and I would never cheat on her so don't call me stupid you dumb jackass.

Since when does not getting caught make adultery okay? Are you guys serious? This is a saracastic question in response to an idiotic reply from a previous question. The no's should be unanimous. I see I have a lot of praying to do. It is apparent that some of you most certainly need Jesus in your lives.

Wow!!! You are a scrappy one aren't you beje4ever. Relax. Take a deep breath. I am a very dedicated husband and Christian. I love my wife whole heartedly and I would never cheat on her. Next time take your time and read the question details completely before jumping to outrageous conclusions. That is the problem with people today. They always assume and make an ***/ out of u/ and me.

No, the Bible is clear that adultery is never ok.

If you lived in a country where it was not against the law to kill someone in cold blood, would that make it ok?

It is a relative thing.

I have never done it and do not condone it. But I have met couples who have an open marriage. They seem to love each other and are not bothered by the idea of their partners having sex with other people. They do not cheat on each other, there is no sense of betrayal on their parts.

I couldn't do it -- but some can. I won't judge them.

Incidently, you are wrong that there are no laws against adultery. Many states have never taken the adultery (or sodomy) laws off the books. They just don't prosecute those laws.

I would disagree with the point that an act can't be immoral unless it is illegal. There are lots of immoral acts that are perfectly legal.

Adultery is a contract violation and in some states, the judge will nail you for it. As it should be.

Adultery is a horrible thing to do a spouse and children. It tears families apart and ruins lives.

Of course it's not okay.

If the stupid sons-of-a-bitches had any understanding what they do to their biodies by commiting adultery they would never do it.
They take in all the STD'S that the other adulter has into their own body. It may take years before it shows up but it will kill them in the end, no exceptions apply to this rule. You can't play with STD'S with out paying the fiddler.

I don't know about adultery being legal or not, but it's certainly grounds for divorce. And the courts uphold that....so....it is kinda against the "laws of the land" in that the court will usually find in favor of your spouse if you committed adultery.
Or am I mistaken?

I don't know whose answer you are referring to about "laws of the land" and such, but I have a suspicion it's mine, judging from your smartass comment about my answer to your last question. I think you ought to re-read my answer. I never said that stuff was OK; in fact, I said it is sin. Sin is sin for everyone. Adultery is sin. I simply said it cannot be legislated, and as a Christian it isn't my job to go around trying to get people to start ACTING like Christians. It's my job to show them how their sin separates them from God, and try to get them to understand how they've angered Him and how they can be made right with Him.

Of course adultery is sin, for Christians, non-Christians, atheists, whatever. That's pretty obvious. The question is, should we legislate against it? No.

Try and refrain from making immature comments this time, "cave man."

My friend, if you really want to save your soul you need to forget about the laws of your land. It's God laws that count in a person who wants to be saved. No adultery will go in heaven!
No buts, ifs, what ifs.

It's fine, but only if your wife knows about it before hand. Also its not right if you have kids then its very wrong because you can cause them a lot more pain then its worth.

As long as its w/ someone of age and not a mistress or something of that sort go ahead. Morals are set by yourself not other people. Live by your morals.

No really, depends on the person and if you are caught. But I think in some countrys you can be put to death for it, especially if you are a woman.
