No darlin', it's not just your generation. Even old Happy Hags were "restless" in the olden days! So much we wanted to do, so few hours in a day. Too little to do on some days, busy feelin' sorry for ourselves because we were bored. Ridiculous. Sweethearts, there is a great big world in just your home, not to mention the world! Get to know your family better. What's your sister's favorite color? How was it growing up when your folks were young? If you have a grandparent around, have them tell you about their "adventures" growing up. Get a notebook out and write down all the stuff you want to do before you're 90, then start working on it! Start with "finish school" and end with "Sit and reminisce"...make it a very long list that can be added to over the years...if you're looking forward to long term goals, it's difficult to be restless! I still haven't bungee jumped, but then, I'm not 90 yet! Enjoy being young, it doesn't last forever!

I think so. When I was a kid all we had was NES and 386 computers (black and white, could only play solitaire etc)

Before that they had even LESS technology...

I think that kids today are brought up with an incredible amount of information right in front of them which is good and bad. The bad part is I think it DOES make people restless becuase they do not learn to be PATIENT and learn that life sometimes serves lemons, and everything is not "autoplay"

Yes. One theory is usually everyone is always in a rush, so I guess the new generation is used to it. When things slow down, they become restless.

Yes, because we now live in a sped up society where everything is about Instant Gratification. People have less patience now.

There was a comedy skit by Dane Cook who was joking about people in the future where they'd get to work in 1 second.

He said that when people go to the DMV, which takes forever, will take 9 seconds.

People will be getting all ticked off at how they had to wait so long :).

The restlessness is the result of feeling somewhere (deep within you) that there is something you need to be doing but don't have any idea what it is.. It sort of creates a lost feeling that needs to be fulfilled. Unfortunately, everythng is in high speed and leaves little time for devoting to looking much deeper into the psyche. You have all the answers, all you need to do is take the time to find them. May need a little help but, it is within your reach.

Technology moves fast & it's your generation's job to keep up with it. You have been conditioned to click thumbs and flip phones==gadgeted to the point of neurosis. Human interaction is more of a side effect of the techno-lifestyle. Otherwise all those texts would just go into the abyss.
Check out the books: "Life the Movie," by Neil Gaebler & "Amusing Ourselves to Death."
Also look into the Skinner Box theory (after BF Skinner).

Yes, this generation is expecting everything handed to them on a silver platter from Cars as soon as they get their license to drive to the paying of credit cards while in school. Seems like this generation has lost the meaning of true work and responsibility, and consequences.

without a doubt. everything has to be served to us, here and now. this is why college is such a shock for many young people. they actually realize that , damn, money is tangible, time is precious, and most things that are worth it require more than pressing the "download" button, or the "play" one. Howveer, not everyone from the new generation is like this... i am manly desribing middle to high class suburban kids, who tend to be spoiled. there are still youn people to be found who missed out on some things, and consequently, know the value of hard work and money
