Ok, I'm being sarcastic here. I had an appointment at one of the offices in the hospital today and as I was walking in and out I saw many patients on oxygen but sitting there puffing away at a cigarette. My papaw died from emphezema (I think thats how you spell it) and when he wasn't smoking it got much better and it looked like he would have a chance of getting through it but then he started smoking again (he had smoked his whole life and worked in the coal mines) and within a month his health declined even more and he passed away.
So, it sort of aggravates me why people do this. What do you thinkk?

i think its really sad that people smoke while they are on oxygen. One of my mom's friend did that and burnt most of her face. I guess this relaly shows you don't start so you aren;t a slave to a cigeratte.

Smoking is an addiction, hard to quit, because the cigarette is a best friend. Smoking with oxygen is very dangerous. O2 is not combustible, but it supports combustion and I have seen some terrible facial burns on people who chose to smoke with their oxygen on.

Well, they're addicted. My mom died of lung cancer and was on oxygen the last few months of her life and she never gave up cigarettes. She was terminal at that point and there wasn't much point in quitting as it wouldn't have helped her get better.

I have diabetes. I exercise every day. When I go for my 3-month physicals, I sit in the waiting room and watch a literal "parade" of people in absolutely HORRIBLE shape.
They will NOT exercise.
They will NOT eat right.
They WANT a pill to cure all their problems.
They have LOW SELF ESTEEM so they, like people who smoke and are sick, do not care.
Even funnier; nurses who work in hospitals and SMOKE!

yes it is crazy,I work in a nursing home and there was a story of someone that did that and his throat literally caught on fire,he was burnt all the way down his throat,still survived but not sure if he still smokes,seen people on t.v. with a hole in there neck smoking out of it.I smoke wish I could quit,watch people die from it too.still smoke.

Yeah it makes me want to stick around and wait to see if they blow up. Smoking and using oxygen...not a safe combination.

Why do people rant on cigarettes when they drive a car that puts out more toxic gas than 1000 cigarettes.

Sorry to say this, but people who come near death from smoking, go on oxygen, and still smoke, should die from being so stupid.
