What's the difference between Jesus and any other man? He was the son of God according to him. All these tales of walking on water and healing the sick...pure gossip. I understand we need historical figures to inspire us, but you don't have to worship the guy just because he says so. The presence of Jesus really hasn't even improved our society along its natural course. There's still politics, there's still war. Not saying that there isn't a higher power, but why would Jesus come to Earth instead of not at all? Couldn't we figure out the path of righteousness for ourselves? I know some of us have.

You people get your strength from a delusion. That may make you stronger, but you're living a lie. I know I'm being a prick, but I just can't stand the lies people tell themselves to be happy.

You love God more than your fellow man, your flesh and blood. You know nothing of God yet you love Him more. It makes me sick.

If Jesus were just a man, then I would certainly agree with you. I believe that Jesus was God incarnate. Why did He have to come to Earth? The orthodox Christian answer to that is that man sinned and separated himself from God. According to the Old Testament, the atonement for sin is a blood sacrifice. There are details, but essentially Jesus was the only sacrifice that could pay for all the sins of mankind at once - one perfect sacrifice to pay for all. God came to Earth to bring us back to Himself, because we were not able to do that.

Gossip? I don't believe that, but it's a point of view. You really should investigate this further. If it's just gossip as you say, then you'll at least have learned something about ancient cultures. If it isn't just gossip, then you have to admit it's pretty important.

It's not a matter of weakness, its a matter of Love. The Bible is not gossip, it is a record of God's dealings with mankind, with eyewitness accounts from those who were with Jesus. He didn't come to improve society, or overthrow Rome in His time, He came to call out a people for Himself. No, we can't figure out a path of righteousness for ourselves because we don't have the capacity for it. We can try, but it takes the Spirit to make it really happen, and that is the Gift He offers, along with a Pardon for all of our sins and mistakes that make us unrighteous. We can settle for so little, or we can take His hand and reach for the Stars.

Jesus was the only one to walk this earth as a divine being and man. He was the only one to live a sinless life. Each human is born into sin and given free will and is faced with the decision to accpet Jesus into their life or not. Unless you can live a sinless life,(which is apparently impossible), then you can enter heaven by your own righteousness.

Since we are born into sin and you cant live a life of righteousness by your understanding simply because we are naturally sinful. Jesus came into this world to save the world(not to condemn it). Jesus died so that he could bridge the gap between mankind and god and so that we have a chance to be followers of Jesus and have your sins forgiven and to have a Savior in our lives.

There are some historical references to prove the validity of the bible. The bible was the first document to prove the stars were innumerable which I believe is stated in the old testament. There are 3 or 4 proven historical references but I dont remember by heart. My suggestion to you: research all these things in the bible and internet and other necessary resources yourself to find the answers youre seeking for(like we all should).

The Lord works according to his will, not ours. I think ive been repetitive but, without Jesus coming to this earth, we would all go to Hell.

Everyone has a choice to live without Jesus. Many choose the path you have chosen, sacriledge and scorn. However many of us believe their is something more in tis world. Something that gives us strength to wake up in the morning, courage to go on after the death of a loved one, hoe to control our destiny. Are you any better? Do you not believe because you cannot see him? Can you see gravity? can you you feel vapor? yet you know these things are true. You who have no faith in anything but your own lives are but ants scurrying to rebuild a great nest for a queen. You do what you are told by what you can see.how ironic will it be when science is able to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is a GOD and he is merciful even unto you?

Kinda flimsy logic here... How do you know that it's pure gossip? Just guessing? How do you know that society hasn't been influenced positively by him? Another guess? What makes you think a path of righteousness is even needed? or that you've figured it out? If you want to argue these points, your arguments need to be a little more objective.

Hey, even if your right about why (some) people are into Jesus, you should cool it with the insults. There's no need to be offensive to these people.

We all have our insecurities. We all deal with them in our own way, often, not in the most perfect way. So assuming your right about what your saying, why should you hold peoples insecurities against them? If you know your being a prick, then you should keep your mouth shut until your more empathetic to the people your talking to.

I hope you understand, I say this in a friendly way.

No we couldn't figure out the path of righteousness, we couldn't redeem ourself and all the blood sacrifices were only temporary fixes for sin. He made one final sacrifice, that was clean enough and pure enough to satisfy God the Father for eternity. And whosever believes upon him shall have everlasting life. That's a pretty sweet deal for us bone heads. My friend you haven't figured out a thing, your only running from the truth.

You are SOOOO far off base with the way you are percieving things that it would take WAY to much typing to explain things to you in here.

You are assuming a LOT without having much knowledge on the subject

It would do you a lot of good to spend some time talking with a minister or someone.

Unless your post was a joke, you haven't a clue.

I urge you to talk to a clergyman soon and ask these questions

Prepare to spend some time with him too

It takes a strong person to believe and have faith. Obviously we couldn't find the path to righteousness, if you have read the bible at all. When left on our own we failed miserably, look at Adam and Eve, Noah and the Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah. If you have found a path without Jesus then you have not found righteousness. Please rethink your logic. God Bless!!

Isn't it weak to just want to enjoy the temporary pleasure of a life without Jesus rather than devoting it for a higher purpose?
