Usually when Catholics "leave" they simply stop attending Mass and never really go anywhere. Christ would be a liar if the Church were to "fall apart" for He said that His Church would not fail and would remain in the world until the end of time.

Actually, a lot of the Protestant congregations are "falling apart", especially the Episcopalian denomination since they have abandoned true Christian doctrine. The Catholic Church has 1.1 BILLION members and is growing.
There has always been scandal in the Church, and there will always be Judases in the Church. But it doesn't make sense to leave Peter because of Judas. In other words, it doesn't make since to throw out the baby with the bath water. Besides, non-Catholic congregations have their share of scandals.
The bottom line is that the Catholic Church, even with it's scandals, is the only one that has preserved the fullness of the Christian faith for 2,000 years. It's the only one that Jesus (God Himself) founded.

Well, when the Bishops openly protect child-molesting priests and move them from place to place while not telling the new parish why said priest is no longer at the previous parish.
When the Parishioners ask that they have some say so in the running of the parish (specifically where the money goes) and the Bishops tell them to go jump in a lake...
When the Vatican tells people, who are desperate for a child and can't have one, that they are going to Hell for using artifical insemination or other techniques...
When the Church hides it's head in the sand and wants to believe that they have the same sort of power that they did in the Middle Ages...
Then, yes the Catholic Church is falling apart.

I was one of the lucky ones I guess. I never encountered anything bad when I was young going to church or my ccd classes. I don't think I can ever switch to a different religion. I'm not saying that being a Catholic is the best but it's the best that we can do with what we have and what we were raised to believe.

I was raised (forced) catholic. At an early age, I learned what it was really all about, and turned away from it. I think that there is a lot more going on that they are still able to cover up. In fact, I know there is, because when I was in catholic school, I (and other children) was abuse physically and emotionally, and it was covered up.

The Holy Church grew 5.3% last year. Not bad.
As for the scandal, most of the accused have been dead for years. What an easy way to make money.
