I have a Maine Coon named Pepe. They truely are gentle giants. Very sweet personalities. I have seen Maine Coons anywhere from 12 to 25 lbs. Pepe is right in the middle at 17 and a half lbs. They are often not a cuddle cat per say. They are more like your friend. They like to lie beside you not on you or behind you on the couch back but they want to be near where you are. They have a lively curiosity. One of the things my Maine Coon does that I have never had another cat do is he loves to play fetch and will do so for hours on end and he loves to jump up and turn on the room lights at the switch. That can be shocking in the middle of the night when all of a sudden you have this bright light shining down upon you LOL.

I have always wanted one. Actually I am debating between a Maine Coon and a Lilac Point Siamese. I do not know if I can afford one. Right now I have a very spoiled 18 year old Tortoise Shell. I will not get a new kitty until We loose Catzin.

I am owned by 2 Maine Coons. They are wonderful. They follow us around the house and like to talk a lot. They also love to play. They're just over a year old and 18 pounds.

I do!!! Maine coons are the best cat ever..gentle, loyal, will play fetch, likes to be right where you are, will rub there face against yours, lets you pet them and pet them without ever getting tired of it...demands attention, loves to eat and will constantly talk back with little mews and chirps. He lets me pet his belly, totally trusts me, will not allow me to pick him up and hold him like a baby but thats ok, my other cat will. My CoCo is 6 yrs old and is about 15 pounds, he's always happy to see me and greets me at the door every single time! Beautifull cat with a wonderfull personality, he also can climb high up and can walk over my decor without knocking over one single thing! If you want a cat...get a maine coon..they play and play like kittens would even when they get older! I couldnt ask for a better kitty!

We had one he was huge 17 1/2 lbs of cat. He was sweet but not very bright at all. I am fairly certain this was restricted to our cat not a breed issue.
The biggest thing I noticed that was different between the maine coon and typical cats was size and overall health. Ours was extremely healthy which is a huge plus for cats.

I have two maine coons, both black and greay tabby w/ white. One is 9 year old and one is 4 years old. They are AWESOME. As a breed they can get quite large. Mine are 12 lbs and 14 lbs which is on the small side of the breed. One of them is just happy to be around us, loves to play and be pet, but doesn't like to be picked up and cuddled. My other one however LOVES attention. He'll follow me around the house and meow until I pick him up. He likes it when I hold him like a baby and scratch his belly. All in all very loving and gentle cats.

Maine Coon cats are the most advanced lifeform on this planet. I love cats, but a Maine Coon is the most intelligent, graceful-souled cat of all. Mine was named, Coony.
