cons are the negative factors in providing aid to africa. some are rebels seizing the food and using it to afdvance their cause, governments refusing to allow aid workers access to those in need, government agents demanding bribes to distribute aid, villagers not letting all aid in, or not letting some recieve aid while others are getting more than they should. just about any reason to prrevent aid going where it's needed is either politcally or militarily expediant. little can be done to send aid when someone doesn't want it to get where it's needed. people don't matter, power does. and pwer will always prevent what is nedded if those who execise it use the aid as a weapon, which often happens in africa, and other places in the world.

I can explain it the people continue to get hand outs and forget how to take care of themselves. They then concentrate on the handouts.
Give a man a fish and you fee him for a day.
Teach a man to fish feed him for a lifetime.

cons:
the war loards steal most of the aid. and sell it for themselves.
there is a lot of corruption in africa.
maybe .05C for every dollar that is sent over there gets to the people.

That was a very good answer from "Jacob *"..... in my opinion, the U.S is good to help other countries (to a point!)... they DO seem to grow too dependant on us, and should be taught to "help themselves" more. There are WAAAAY TOO MANY AMERICANS that need extreme help in OUR OWN COUNTRY... (There are starving, homeless, diseased, traumatized, abused, uneducated, unemployed and uninsured HERE!!) Imagine if we put "even some" of that effort & money to help our own first!
