right now you are in a catch 22. you can't get any credit because you don't have any credit. Try a small credit card with a small limit that you can pay off every month. Don't ever increase the amount. You will probably be offered another small amount credit card. Keep the balance low and pay it off every month also.

go to your bank and ask for a credit card
after some hand-wringing they will give you a 300.- card
use it every now and then, and immediately pay the bill when it comes .. after 6 months or so, go back to the bank and ask for a higher one ... like 1500.-
and so on ... by that time the first card offers should be arriving in the mail.
be careful, credit is the way of modern slavery .. once you are in debt on a credit card it is very hard to get out of it. the interest rates are enormous, no matter how much sugar coating they give you with it.

First, open a checking account. Next, you can apply for a secured credit card. That is what I did and after a few years of being extremely responsible, I wrote to the credit card company and they made it an unsecured card and returned my security fee. Good luck.

the first thing you need to do is ask your bank to provide you with a financial advisor. many banks provide this service for free.

open up a mutual fund savings account, and arrange for automatic withdrawal of at least $45 to that account at every pay cheque. this will quickly increase your credit rating.

Then, begin taking out small loans from your bank, and paying them off a week later. do this on a regular basis, to prove that you're a person of financial integrity.
