Should i be able to tell my father that im on my period and bled through my clothes and need to go to the bathroom? my stepmom thinks so. And i think so too except for the fact that well.............i've seen him looking at porn. And to make things worse my step-mom will say "he sees naked girls all the time in the hospital. He's not a child molestor, but its just that i don't feel comfortable talking about these kinds of things. My stepmom says that to be ashamed to tell him is a "little girl" thing. Im 16. Is this my problem? Should i be able to tell him?

Why would you want to share this with him. What could he possibly do about it now. You have a stepmother who is there for you. Male or female there are somethings that are private & I think this is one of them.

Look at this way; we all have secrets. If you do not want to tell your father about ANYTHING that makes you feel uncomfortable when you tell him; then DON'T!

Second, you are NOT a "little girl" at age 16.

Third, he is an adult; what he looks at is his business. AS LONG AS he does not make it part of YOUR business! He should NOT look at anything in front of you or your mom that will embarris either one of you. That is rude!

If you cannot talk to your stepmom, look under planned parenthood in the phone book. They have people you can talk to about these things.

PS Here is something to think about; people have been around for THOUSANDS of years. And women and younger women your age have had periods for all those thousands of years. It is what we are, what we do. If people make an issue of it, they have a problem. Not you. People should never embarris others with something that has been natural for all those years.

I hope this helps!

I think it has to be your choice. LOTS of women don't feel comfortable talking about something so private and personal. Think about it: does he discuss the workings of his genitals with YOU?? Probably not. You have a right to feel the way you do and to share only what you feel comfortable sharing. It's YOUR body!

No and your stepmother needs to shut her mouth about your
father's porn watching. That is nobody's business.
