HEY, i'm a 17 year old male who used to be reeeally fit until this summer... since the begining of this summer i have piled on 66+lbs. due to lack of exercise, binge eating, eating sugary foods & other issues such as my "urge to gain weight" which means i enjoy myself overweight & plan on continuing to gain weight...

yet i have noticed in the past month or so i have started getting chest pains. like when i climb stairs, eat ALOT or sometimes no apparent reason...

like my parents & doctors say i MUST lose weight, watch what i eat & work out!but i'm like screw that!! so can anybody help me with this??

my current stats are 5'10 222lbs. up from 155ish a few months ago! i also have a rather round belly @ 46 inches which makes me look pregnant which i find quite amusing. i also have huge thighs which are covered in stretch marks and is an utter pain when walking anywhere AND i have man boobs "moobs" which are slightly unsightly but w/e keep in mind i was inshape a few months ago...

Have you brought up the chest pains with your doctor? At your age they probably aren't a sign of heart problems, but it would be good to find out what's causing them.

Do you really want to lose weight, or is this just something that's being forced on you? Have you noticed when and why you overeat? Is it when you're bored or frustrated?

Sorry for the questions, but some of them may be key to your figuring out what's going on and deciding what, if anything, to do about it. For example, if you eat because you're bored or stressed out, it may not because you wanted to eat, particularly, just that you need relief from those feelings. If it's that type of thing, you can substitute other actions for eating when you're feeling that way.

I'm concerned that this is a stupid comment on my part, but do you think the weight is a control issue for you? I've seen cases where parents really love their kids and want what's best for them, which can mean losing weight. However, if you're on the kid end it can feel like you're being nagged to death, or like people don't love you just the way you are.

Or the weight can be something you control that others don't have much say in, which can be perversely satisfying when parents, teachers, etc. control so much stuff in your life. When I was 17, it felt like I was close to adulthood and I wished people would lay off already.

I fear that nothing I've said will be particularly helpful, but I do wish you the best of luck.

it could be a variety of different things. You need to have your hormones checked and a insulin test. If that isn't it I would find a therapist and see if you have something driving you to feed your pain... But, from experience, boredom, and the path your on is an endless cycle. You feel bad, lazy, bored and eat, gain weight, feel badly, so you don't exercise, then you feel even worse, more lazy, and it will go on and on.

If you don't have a medical condition, nothing will really help until YOU make the decision to do something about it.

It's typical on your weight to range in particular at this degree of progress. I would not attempt to acquire weight if I had been you, you'll be able to simply begin yo-yo weight loss program. However should you do have a better than normal metabolic price seek advice a health practitioner.

you might be going through some mental difficulties, where you feel you look better fat than thin, much like another diease where people feel the need to cut off thier limbs because they feel they look better without them. Talk to your doctor/parents about this and ask them to look into it, it just might help.
