I have a 19" dell ultrasharp model and it is great, I shopped around a lot and also it is one of the few monitros that have hidden usb ports one the back and side for convienience also it looks great and has built in seakers if you want to use them. It is rated number 1 by consumerreports.com. Get this monitor if you really want the best that is out there

since the days of 16-color DOS, the best color monitors have been NEC. Their colors are brilliant without being harsh, and once i started photo editing, i found that the colors on the NEC are very close to the desired final print, that is, what you see on the screen is what you get in the commercially processed print.

but for video editing, i'd take a quick swing-through on circuit city and see who makes the best TV flat screens nowadays - if your end product will be shown on TV, then perhaps you want your computer screen to be the same brand as the TV screen most of your viewers will be using.

rofl i could care less about my moniter, it's somewhat old...i think it's decent. A flatscreen monitor is nice, espicially for HD stuff.
