in the original stories eeyore had a problem with his tail falling off so they tied a bow around it to keep it on.

The point of the Pooh characters is that they're all part of a child's make believe world, each one representing a stuffed animal come to life by the power of imagination. Eeyore is a male, the pink bow representing nothing more than childlike innocence and blindness toward the social norms of gender bias.

Because he is a pin the tail on the donkey and the bows were often put on tails during children's parties back in the days of old.

didn't his tail fall off sometimes? if it did , then thats how he put it back on... if it didn't fall off(haven't watched Winnie the Pooh in years) then its just to make him have some color and its cute. i always loved eeyore.
