I believe that alot of the cheap labor, or bottom of the labor market was due to lack of education, not color. That's not to say discrimination wasn't very significant, because it was. The Asians, like other immigrants before them, went through the bottom of the labor market thing, as did the Italians, Irish, Polish, and many other ethnic groups.

Believe me, the Asians and blacks didn't invent cheap labor, it's always been around. They just had a turn at it, like so many others.

What is wrong with you? How many years are you going back too. Poor white people were used the same way as blacks and Asians so you statement isn't totally accurate. By the way, rich blacks overseas sold their own color to whites for slavery same as whites did so why aren't the blacks ashamed too if that is your argument. The only thing I am ashamed of is people like you who try to stir up **** that should have been over years ago. Slavery went out years and years ago and I'm sure you don't remember it and I don't remember it so why is it still on the table for discussion. This is an immigration discussion site not who started slavery.

You also need to realize that they used whites for cheap labor also. Just because a few whites with money treated other people like trash doesn't mean it was always another race. At one time in the South before the civil war there were actually more white slaves than black slaves.

I've never used a black or an Asian for cheap labor. Why should I feel ashamed? Sorry, you'll have to do better than this to get any white guilt out of me. I owe nobody anything. You can guilt the liberals if you want, but not this Republican girl.

Anyone who exploits others should be ashamed. That is why many, many white people are so angry about the large number of illegal Mexican immigrants. We know that many come here because cheap, greedy business owners will hire them and exploit them. Businesses who hire illegals need to be stopped. They need to have huge fines. First a law needs to be passed making it a felony to hire undocumented workers. That will help end the shame.

Whites aren't ashamed because we look at the world around us and see murder rape and abuse, genocide, dictators, and compared to those slavery and slave wages are not nearly as shameful.

Oh yeah, and because we don't do the slave thing anymore (if we did in the first place, "white" is a broad term.) Yet, other countries practice slavery.

a lot of them are but many do not feel bad because it happened with their ancestors and not them. Its like slavery. white people should not feel bad now. what happened in the past is the past. I am asian and I think its sad how history panned out. I just hope we can learn for a better future so we can be one race of people. Because honestly I think its crazy to say I am asian or he is Black.

I didn't do anything to be ashamed of. My family was poor and my grandparents had to leave school everyday to pick cotton and never got to finish school. My great grandparents were full blooded Cherokee Indian. I think that says it all.

I have nothing to be ashamed of. I have never used "cheap" labor for anything. I do my own house chores, I mow my own yard, I wash my own car.

I don't use "cheap" labor!

We got them from Blacks/arabs in Africa and the asians from smarter asians who bring them in and put them in bondage. All of them came on there own or there own kind. We don't force people to come here. So why shame??
