You could save a life and adopt from an animal shelter.
A few things to consider:
How often can you exercise it? Big dogs need more space and exercise.
Will it be living indoors? If so, a little one is probably best.
Are you allergic? If so, get a hairless breed.
Do you have time to groom it? If not, short haired breeds are the best.

A mutt might be best for you because it may have all the qualities you want!

3 breeds I personally like are:
Corgi (medium size, short hair), Maltese cross Shitzu (small size, long soft hair) and Labrador (big height, medium length coat).

Enjoy the dog. I hope you get 1 from a shelter.

You should provide more details. Your answer would depend on.....
What's the size of your home?
What recreational area can you take your dog to?
Does the breed have any ailments?
What is the breed's life expectancy?
What is the dog's temperament?
If you are a neatsy person, would you mind shedding?
Does the breed slobber?
Does your place of living accept the breed?
Does your place of living have a specified weight range?
Do you want a small dog or big dog, and does your living space have enough room for them?

There are many questions that you need to answer to narrow down the type of breed that will work best for you.

Depends on your lifestyle. Do you have time and space for a large dog like a lab. They are energetic and need daily exercise. Maybe a small pet like a chihuahua is best. They aren't as energetic as the big dogs sometimes. Jack Russels are small but full of ENERGY. Also the bigger they are the more it cost to care for them ie. heartworm prevention, flea prevention, medications if he gets sick. The akc is a great place to get info. when you adopt make sure you are educated in the breed so you know what to expect.

If you do not have little children, and you want a puppy that will love you sooooooooooooooooooo much - get a chihuahua.

They are extremely smart, loyal, protective, loving little dogs. I've had other breeds of dogs - but my chihuahua is my favority by far. I will always have a chihuahua from now on.

well it depends on your living situation.
like lets say you live in an apartment and you are gone a lot get 2 beagles or 2 orf some type ofd small dog.but if you live in a big houde and are still gone a lot get 2 big dogs but the reason why i keep say ing 2 is because dogs can suffer from depressin if theres no afection but if you have plenty of time to devote get a freindly fun breed

My tips are:
Get a breed that suits ALL of your needs
Adopt from a shelter
Get a female, if it will be indoors, males pee on furniture
Enjoy!!!
