well, sometimes they are interchanged in the Bible, but I usually like to think of spirit (which can also be translated breath in hebrew and greek) as the breath of God which gave adam and eve life. I like to think of the soul as personality. Therefore the spirit makes something alive and the soul is what that person "is".

Hmm...well I would say a soul lives within you (in a body) whereas a spirit is free. If you're talking about the Holy Spirit living in you, that is another entity and not your soul...so that is different too.

soul is the spirit inside the human that what the bible calls "holy ghost" it's your higher self, just some people made up the name soul. Spirit can be a former human or a made up creature in the astral realm by using astral projection.

The spirit is the breath of God. Soul is a living being.

Dust (body) + God's breath (his spirit)= living soul (person-being).

Potentially the same thing. However the word spirit is often used to portray a vigor about someones character where as a soul is just someones essence.

I try to put it this way: There's only one spirit which is infinite in nature as contrary to soul. When part of the spirit fuses with a matter(physical body) it creates a product called soul. In outer clothing this is who we are a soul but deeper understanding of our nature we are one spirit. The fusion gives the soul instinctively knowledge of his inner self (spirit) but acting on it ignorantly on his physical body unknowingly he is not the body but a spirit. The soul throughout his lifetime learns thru experience by trial and error. And eventually understand his true identity as spirit. It is not coincidence that bible speak of Jesus as a Living Spirit. Because that's precisely Jesus is. He overcomes the ignorance and understand his spiritual nature and live in spirit throughout his lifetime on earth. And as for us the death of our body is the awakening of our spirit.

Genesis 2:7  And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

Body + Spirit = Soul

This can be the only answer because this scripture reveals the "ingredients" that GOD used in creation.

nothing much. Though , while soul appears in a religious context , some spirits are good for uplifting the mood.

Soul is the combination of the body and breath of life. Spirit is breath, something you can't see.
