i have internet explorer 7 and some sites tell me to update my browser. isn't 7 the newest one? how can i view things if they say otherwise?

if the websites were created before internet explorer 7 was, and most of them are, AND they actively check which version your browser is when you visit a page then all they will see is 'hey it's none of the versions we know about, pop up an error' and you can't go any further. it's a limitation of webmasters programming their sites to only work on certain browsers/versions.

there is nothing you can do about it, without reverting to a previous version or trying a different browser (like firefox).

in fact on very rare occasions i get the same message just because i choose not to use internet explorer - which most sites are written to be compatible with not because internet explorer is good (it's not) but because it's included with windows so alot of people have it.

the sites that say so,,, have some kinda adware or spyware included in them,,, so better dont open them at all

they say that so you can click on that link for advertisment cause no one usually pay attention to their advertisments
