why are people afraid to be themselves?

for example; people use drugs and alcohol as an excuse to loosen up or be crazy..what are they afraid of? just be your self. enjoy the natural high of life ^_^
hahahahaha people have asked me if i do drugs or drink because of how strange and open i am lol i think its hilarious.

rejection is part of life..who cares if you get rejected!!? if you assume that you'll be rejected then your living in fear and how is that a way to live your life? you shouldnt care what people think about you. okay i love you buh bye!

Becuase everyone wants to be normal or follow what every one else is doing. Little do they realise there is no such thing as normal. And drugs allways got bad press..

I work 7 days a week and, when I come home in the evening, I'll drink beer if that's what I want to do. I'm most certainly not afraid to be myself. Perhaps, you should concentrate more on your presumptions and conceit and less on what others are doing.

most people have a need to present a certain image to people and also a need to make everyone happy, when we all know you cant make everyone happy, that is why i think that some people act one way to some people but another way to others

We use drugs because drinking doesn't always work.

I drink because I like the feeling. I used to smoke pot because I liked the feeling ( I still like it, but it's illegal so i don't do it).
