This always lifts my spirits:
Isaiah 11:
5. Righteousness will be his belt
and faithfulness the sash around his waist.
6. The wolf will live with the lamb,
the leopard will lie down with the goat,
the calf and the lion and the yearling [a] together;
and a little child will lead them.
7. The cow will feed with the bear,
their young will lie down together,
and the lion will eat straw like the ox.
8. The infant will play near the hole of the cobra,
and the young child put his hand into the viper's nest.
9. They will neither harm nor destroy
on all my holy mountain,
for the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD
as the waters cover the sea.

I've been in a similar type of situation - that is, having something that couldn't be changed for several years. Remember this. We only have today. Life goes on in the meantime. Enjoy what you have. Don't put your life on hold until things are the way you want them. Do what you can to work towards your goals, but make the best of the things you can't change.

God loves you. He will never leave you or forsake you. Believe in Him. Everything works for the good for those who trust in Him. Just pray to God first thing in the morning in Spirit & Truth & Love. Abide in His Word and His Love and ask what you will and know He hears you. And if you know He hears you, you know you receive your request.
It always is helpful to pray from a biblical promise book. Pray the promises out loud and renew your mind with the Word of God.
Forget the past & press on toward the future and the hope of your calling. In all things you do, do in the name of the LORD, to the glory of the Father.
If negative vibes go your way, return them dipped in the love of God. Replace with saying the positive & the victory over negativity.
God bless you abundantly above all you could ever ask or think.

With God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
I've seen Him provide words to say to speak to someone about things that couldn't be known by natural means, assistance of various kinds in accomplishing such things as graduating from school on time - e.g. someone to stay up all night and help recopy a paper as it was being written (in German no less)...
Or practical matters such as a visa to some country in three days when it normally takes several weeks, or finances (without the party in need even having to tell anyone about the problem).
Or on a more personal level, helping someone to keep her love of music alive when it was necessary to quit lessons for the sake of her sanity.
Or helping two people to find love when they are so old and set in their ways, eccentric, independent, even reclusive, and furthermore from such different cultural and religious backgrounds, that it would be humanly impossible for them ever to get together.
Or perhaps most spectacularly, I've seen Him enable a person to sleep with angelic peace when she had cancer, was finding a new tumor in her armpit every two days, and all she could do was wait the two weeks for her operation. And since then, He has provided her with (so far) five years of health - with the same peace as before.
I've seen Him apply that peace to a lifetime full of pain and rage, to make sense of things that just don't make sense and 'should never have happened', to repair relationships, to remove worries, to enable someone to take risks that she would never have dreamed of taking before...
This all really happened: this is my life, and that is my God, and I know He can help you in all things. Cast all your cares on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).
May you, putting your hope in the Lord, renew your strength
May you soar on wings like eagles'
May you run and not grow weary
May you walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:31).
May you come to Him, when you are weary and burdened, and find rest in Him. May you take His yoke upon you and learn of Him, for He is gentle and humble in heart, and thereby find rest for your soul (Matthew 11:28-31).
May the Lord bless you and keep you
May the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you
May the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26)

Dear Lord,
I pray for Shlane. Infuse her with the light of your Holy Spirit. Enrich her heart with that most excellent gift of charity. Grant her the desires of her heart. Help her to see your providence. Give her grace to endure and faith to believe that she will reap if she doesn't give up. When she is weak give her strength. Anoint her creativity, her ideas, and her energy so that even her smallest tasks may bring you honor. In your strong and powerful name, Lord Jesus Christ, I pray.

This too, shall pass. All things in this life are temporary. On the other side it will be good to know you can overcome such things. Whatever it is, college to cancer treatment, you will grow and have a tremendous experience to pull from for reference in dealing with future problems.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to [his] purpose”—this is a true statement and it is a biblical one. Also true is that in God’s providence these same things exist of Him, through Him, and for Him. Almighty God, who is the creator and sovereign lord of this universe, plays a role in the affairs of humanity to a degree much greater than some of us believe or would care to admit.

God's power is in your weakness
MY grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians12:9a (NIV)
God has never been impressed with strength or self- sufficiency. In fact, he is drawn to people who are weak and admit it. Jesus regarded this recognition of our need as being "poor in spirit" (Matthew 5:3). It's the number one attitude he blesses.
The Bible is filled with examples of how God loves to use imperfect, ordinary people to do extraordinary things in spite of their weaknesses. If God only used perfect people, nothing would ever get done, because none of us is flawless. That God uses imperfect people is encouraging news for all of us.
Lord, I intercede for Shlane today. Help her to find solutions to today's problems. Give her appreciation for the natural beauty of your creation around them. Surround Shlane with your healing presence and fill Shlane with joy. Amen.

Colossians 2:6-7
So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
