GET UP AND DO IT. PROCRASSTINATION REQURIES THOUGHT. OBVIOUSLY THIS ALONE PROVES YOU'RE NOT LAZY.
Seriously, the reason you're lazy doesn't require you to take medication!!Great News huh?!! The reason's are: You have low self esteem. If you believed that your contributions to your household and your wife were worth doing they'd be done. You may tell yourself that: ' thats a womans job' which you then sub-conciously internalize as an job you're not required to do. A MANS job is to lift the heavy objects, kill the bugs and occasionally mow the lawn. Therefore threw your perception of this, you're sub-concious mind blocks out any willingness to help out...unless ofcourse until things get TOUGH or NECESSARY. then its YOU to the rescue!!!! Because in YOUR mind it's the MAN'S job to do all the hardstuff. Also, with knowledge of this you take for granted the little things your Wife may ask of you BEFORE things build up. And when things BUILD UP guess what happense.....THATS RIGHTS....once again its YOU to the rescue!!! You have a need to feel IMPORTANT to your FAMILY/WIFE. SO YOU PURPOSELY ALLOW THINGS TO GROW AND BUILD UP JUST TO FEEL NEEDED. WHICH IS SELFISH. ITS NOT ABOUT YOU. I'M SURE YOUR WIFE WOULD APPRECIATE YOU MORE IF YOU'D HELP HER BEFORE THING ESCALATE. THIS WOULD SHOW HER THAT YOU DON'T TAKE HER FOR GRANTED, YOU'RE BEING MINDFULL, AND THAT YOU'E NOT SUBJECTED TO THE CONVENTIONAL CONFORMATIES OF WHAT A MARRIAGE SHOULD BE. THIS WOULD ALSO SHO HER THAT YOU'RE SECURE WITH YOUR MANHOOD. SECURE ENOUGH TO HELP HER COOK, TO HELP WITH KIDS(IF ANY), AND EVEN PUT UP THE GROCERIES. And guess what?? This will also show that you're mature enough and MAN enough to handle even the smallest task. Doing this will eliminate stress and improve you love-life for BOTH you and your wife. You'll also have more confidence. One more thing. Consider yourself. If you were doing a job do you think it would be easier for someone to help you WITHOUT asking BEFORE things became too hard?? The little things DO matter, but only if you believe they do.
I may not know you, but I believe that you can//will do the right thing, but only if you TRUELY want to. Bad Habits are meant to be broken. And you're better than your bad habits!!

prozac maybe? I don't know. But you should really try some other things first. Start by making sure that you are in the best of health, get enough sleep every night, eating good, nutritious well-balanced diet and are exercising regularly. A good health regime can do wonders for your psyche and give you the boost you need.
Another thing to do is get organized. There is nothing worse that a disorganized house to drain all inspiration. If paperwork, tools, books, files, etc are all organized and readily accessible then household tasks can be done easily and you avoid all the frustration of not finding the thing you need when you need it. Buy a copy of "Organizing from the Inside Out" by Julie Morgenstern. It will help you get organized.

Check out www.hufa.org - especially the symptoms link. My problems with those two items stem from my low blood sugar condition - which has now flipped to diabetes. That does not seem to have stopped the laziness however - and you should see me running around in the morning getting ready for work, cause I stayed too long answering Yahoo!Answers.
Medicine for it is a balanced diet with low sugars - to avoid tripping off insulin overproduction.
Having an understanding spouse that knows your triggers will help. My husband will remind me to exercise. Crunches seem to help me get over it - if I don't procrastinate and not do them.

I have that problem too and I went to see a doctor about it. They said that i was depressed and gave me medication and therapy for it . I feel really great now and have so much more motivation. They helped me with basically how to live again. They put me on 10 mg of Lexapro and told me to take it slow , like doing one chore at a time. I would clean the living room the first day and keep doing it everyday for a week then I would add 1 more room a week. I have my game down now and I lost like 5 pounds. Good luck! And take care, please don't take crack!

drink lots of good, strong esspresso, its safer than any type of medicine, or redbull is pretty good. If you really want to go the med route most over the counter diet pills work for energy, just try to stay away from effedra, its works but its not so good for you. Ps..my hubby has the same problem, usually we work out deals, like i say I'll do this if you do that, or if you do this I'll pay for dinner out tonite, it gives him that little boost sometimes.

Pick out the worst job. Start on it
Concentrate on nothing but that job.
Do not watch TV or talk on the phone
or stop for anything. Just do it!
When you get it done you will feel
like a million, six fifty!! Then see
what happens to all that tired!!!!

Positive motivation. Think about the fact that you love your wife and family and want to help. Take vitamins. Give yourself some pep talks. Think about how happy you will make your wife and how much it will improve your relationship. You can do it!
Get away from the computer and do it now!

The trick is to not think about starting to do something. Just start doing it.
If you think about it, you can always come up with an excuse as to why you should put it off.
To jump start the process, start doing something you don't like to do and learn how to like doing it. Pretty soon, it becomes a habit to just dive into things, get them done, and feel good about having done them.
