What helped me a lot was keeping a food diary. I would write down everything I ate or drank and also keep a record of when I got sick. For me, it is an 8-12 hour delay from the time I eat something to when I get sick.

I have IBS and have had it since I was a kid, the biggest problem with IBS is Caffeine, for me anyway, it triggers my intestines to go into evacuate mode, I get major pains and sickness. Try staying away from that for awhile, its not easy if you drink coffee or soda. But trust me, I feel great. Greasy foods, also trigger it. I hope this helps.

Colpermil is a good peppermint tablet you can take or there is Buscopan, both can be bought in the pharmacy or you can get them in bulk from your doctor. I find pilates help as its good to be calm and relaxed as stress can make the symptoms of IBS worse.

Try www.ibsnetwork.org.uk, www.aboutibs.org and www.ibstales.com

Hope that helps

I have had lots of success with Peppermint Plus by Enzymatic Therapy. See Digestive Wellness by Elizabeth Lipski for lots of good info and other recommendations.

I think I still do. It was cramps and diarrhea until I got pregnant and it's been constipation ever since, but not as severe as it has been. Depends on what's troubling you. A gastroenterologist has drugs for both diarrhea and/or constipation and he could check you out to make sure it isn't something else.
