everything went well and i had minimal bleeding with no cramps so the DR said I was a very lucky one. i had my check up 2 weeks later, DR said there was no infection, everything was fine
i finally got a regular period last week on 8/21 and it bled regularly for about 4 days then turned light brown and spotty for a bit. It's been 10 days and sometimes when i whipe my vagina its very light brown (hardly even there).. but only sometimes .. Is that normal? Also, is it possible to get pregnant right now if I were to have unprotected sex (this is a hypothetical question guys) even though when I whipe its a tiny bit brown discharge sometimes? so is it still possible to get pregnant.
Before you people go ASSUMING as you did previously, I am not planning to get pregnant again I havent had sex since the abortion I am just curious of the chances. I actually try to have my friends obtain abstinence so they dont make the mistake i did so dont just assume before u know the facts plz answer thnx!

Yes you can get pregnant.

As for the colour ... I would suggest it is probably just some residual old blood from the procedure but if in doubt, see your doctor.

I don't know if your discharge is normal or not. I do know you can get pregnant easier now than usual because your hormones are off balance because of the recently terminated pregnancy. I would also like to tell you that I had an abortion 3 years ago. I was 22 and I had a 2 year old. I do not regret my decision. No matter what anyone says to you abortion is our choice. I have another child now and anyone you asked would tell you I am a good mom. I work 12hrs a day 7 days a week to support my kids because their dads don't help. There was only one person that supported my decision. Not many people know but those that do think it was a horrible thing. My advice to you is if you are like me and don't want to defend yourself against the ridicule tell as few people as possible. But don't ever let anyone change how you think about it. If you are glad you did it there is nothing wrong with that. Try to keep it from happening again because it can be hard on your body if you do it more than once or twice. Before I got into the situation I was in I was one of those people who would put others down for having an abortion. People don't know until they are faced with it how they will respond. I miscarried my first two pregnancies and my third the doctor wanted to do an amniocentesis because there was a chance my baby would have a birth defect because of genetic reasons. I refused the test because it can cause miscarriage and I told him I didn't care what was wrong I wanted the baby and wouldn't abort even if he could prove it would not be normal. However when I had that abortion it didn't matter whether the baby was healthy or not I wanted it to be over. I felt so relieved when I walked out of that clinic that day. I am sorry for rambling on. I just thought you might need some words of encouragement and support. Maybe you didn't and I just felt like sharing my story. It's just that this is a very touchy subject and everyone's opinions are so strong that their words are often way too harsh. I'd love to hear your thoughts on everything I've just dumped on you if you feel like it.

I would say the brownish discharge you are getting is just old residual blood. It should dissipate soon. Yes you can get pregnant again if you have unprotected sex. I know you said you're not planning on it, you were just wondering. I would suggest that if you plan to have sex in the future, you look into other forms of birth control, like an IUD, the BC patch, the pill, nuvaring, etc etc. There are all kind of options out there. Try Planned Parenthood for more information. They can help you with info on after abortion care, birth control options, and just about any other question you have about sex and conception. Good luck to you.

As for all the people that say abortion is murder, that is your opinion, keep it to yourself. I'm sure she doesn't feel so hot as it is without being called a killer. None of us know this girl, or the circumstances of why she chose what she chose. No one should judge others, especially if you don't know them.

I would call my doctor about the discharge to be safe. And yes you can get pregnant at this time. Do not have unprotected sex due to the chance of infection and pregnancy until your doctor says it is alright. (Unprotected sex is never a good idea)

I'm sorry that your ignorance and inability to use proper protection caused you to kill your baby first and foremost.... the light brown when you wipe is just old blood.. and I hope that you will never again have unprotected sex... abortion isn't a form of birth control.

It was a mistake. A child is never a mistake. :(

Its so sad. Because I know so many families who ache for a child and can't have one, but yet people can go off and kill them left and right because it was "A Mistake"

As for future, try something like Mirena. It's good for 5 years. It's inserted, an IUD. No more worrying about killing another mistake.
