It depends on the dentist. Some where I live won't see them before 2 or 3 years old.

3-4 years and then ONLY for an exam...no procedures! After that every 6 months. Teeth should be sealed at 7 years old and it is time consuming so it is a good idea to have your child make friends with the dentist...if possible see the same person every time!
After each visit do something special with your child like getting a new game or toy so that s/he knows they have something fun to look forward to after the visit.

Ask your Dentist what he/she recommends. I took my oldest at around 2 1/2 he let them do all the cleaning, floss, everything but he is odd in the fact that he likes things like that, Dr visits, blood draws, never cried during shots....
My youngest is gonna have to be 3 I think, he is too crazy at 2 1/2, I know he won't sit or open his mouth for that matter.

The dentist I take my girls to won't see kids until they are 3. Kids that age can follow directions a little bit and cooperate.

my dentist says 2. I just took my son and he is 3. Depends on the kids and how cooperative they are. Also if they eat excess candy or drink milk at night.
