Constantine is best known for being the first Roman Emperor to embrace Christianity, (although he may have continued in his pre-Christian beliefs as well), and was the first to grant Christianity the status of a legalized religion (religio licita) through the 313 Edict of Milan.
Crucifixion was abolished for reasons of Christian piety, but was replaced with hanging, to show there was Roman law and justice.
Easter could be publicly celebrated.
Sunday was declared a day of rest, on which markets were banned and public offices were closed (except for the purpose of freeing slaves).

Constantine was asked to interceded in a controversy called Arianism, which believed that Jesus Christ was a lesser God to the Father. It claimed that there was a time when Jesus Christ did not exist. By 325, the controversy had become significant enough that Emperor Constantine called an assembly of bishops, the First Council of Nicea, which condemned Arius' doctrine and formulated the Nicene Creed, which is still recited in Catholic, Orthodox, Anglican, and some Protestant services. The Nicene Creed's central term, used to describe the relationship between the Father and the Son, is homoousios, meaning "of the same substance" or "of one being".

Constantine was also responsible for building the first large scale churches.
His mother Helen, was responsible for traveling to the Holy Land, searching for holy artifacts (the True Cross) and building churchs at holy sites.
Contrary to Protestant legends, Constantine did not start the Catholic Church. Neither did Constantine introduce any novel or new doctrines into Christianity.

Constantine did NOTHING for True Christianity.
He and his diabolical mother TWISTED Christianity to turn it in to the BUSINESS and Political machine that Catholicism is today.
