When I was going to college a few years ago I was walking onto the campus and walked by a couple of boys. One of them barked at me. I wasn't sure how to take that. Even though I just ignored him and kept on walking that just stuck in my head. I'm not an ugly woman. Not drop-dead gorgeous, but I've have had people say that I am pretty. So what's the deal with barking?

Perhaps he was just hitting on you because he found you attractive. Though by barking at you he had not even a chance but you should take it as a compliment and not worry so much.

The barking thing doesn't acually work but sometimes it gets a smile or a little flirt from the laddies. I am not a barker or a howler but I do honk my horn sometimes if I am driving fairly slowly and I see a gorgeous woman walking down the street.
It is simply a sign of attraction and should be looked on as flattery not negativity or rudeness.

Happy barkin'!

He most likely was bird dogging you. Meaning that the bark was a indication that he would like to stiff around you .....it is a way of saying he thought you were something, but it really wasn't proper.

i would've suspected that he was showing off to his friends that he DIDN'T like you or find you attractive, even though in reality, he was probably trying to hide the fact that he DID like you.

having said that, i would go with what the men answered. they are more apt to understand how a fellow hound thinks.

anyway, i wouldn't worry. i am sure you are beautiful and that is true regardless of what others say. you need no affirmation by some silly pup.

He was demonstrating what a jerk he is. The proper thing to say is "Hello, how are you today?" or "Hi!"

I am sorry you had some creepy jerk bark at you. You did the right thing by walking and ignoring him.

He's immature, and perhaps has a mental issue. If it was a boy walking with other boys, he was showing off. Most boys become complete cowards when alone. If he was alone, then there's always a chance he has a mental problem.

He may have just been mean. He may have been just entertaining himself. I sometimes hear things being said that don't pertain to me but take them as though directed at me only discover later the truth.

In either case, be confident in the knowledge that most people describe you as attractive.

It could mean 1 of 2 things. #1 He thought you were a dog or (most likely) #2 He's a horndog who wants to "hump" you. Don't worry about it. Real men don't do things like that.

He probably needed some attention. I have heard of this happening but I really don't know what guys mean by doing this other than that they are immature.
