Are you aware that Cannabis (Marijuana) not only prevents cancer, sickle cell anemia,as well as other diseases

and disorders, it EXTENDS LIFE and ADDITIONAL 2-24 YEARS depending on whether one also drinks, (alcohol is toxic and kills)?

Also, are you aware that it is completely healthy to enhale marijuana, it is an expectorant and actually is excellent for ashma and broncitis(sp)?

Cannabis actually grows brain cells, I can tell most of the answers here (except for a few) actually know what they are talking about, I am a researcher and I have spent years of research on this subject. Besides a few of you the rest of you are talking propaganda which warns to to the intelligence level of people I'm dealing with here who won't research something so important themselves, but take someone elses word for it. I feel sorry for you really, one day Cannabis could seriously save your lives.

i used to have asthma (not sure how its spelt) untill i started smoking weed. thats a true story. alcohol is legal but is far more worse for your health, and drunk people kill more per year than any drugs put togeather, thats a fact. ie drunk drivers, drunk people are always fighting and hurting each other and other people.

Seems like you have found some pretty erroneous pseudo factoids. One joint will do as much damage as an entire pack of cigarettes..sickle cell anemia is not acquired, is genetically passed. The damage to brain cells has been pretty well established (is not good for prolonged life). If it prevented cancer, why would cancer patients be fighting to get it legalized?

Is really interesting to see such information appear as fact, when all medical findings reveal just the opposite.

Well I am going to address this question as well as address some of the answers that have been given. There was a user Rick who brought up some topics, and I think he may have been off base. First of all, just because you smoke marijuana does not mean that you are constantly under a state of intoxication, if you drink does that mean that you were drunk writing your post? No, I do not believe so, so those assumptions are more harmful to your case than beneficial. And if you do not want your children to use a substance such as marijuana then that is up to your parenting. This is not a bad environment to discuss this topic, much better for them to read and become informed about the harmful aspects of marijuana here than to be propositioned later being armed only with directives without a basis to support them. The most substantial lies dealing with this substance are the lies that were the basis for our drug policy for decades. In the 1930's our government said that the AMA stated that marijuana could lead to "murder, insanity, and even death." The only problem was that the AMA was speaking on a different substance, and the government had used the case study with reckless disregard for the truth. Marijuana was made illegal not based upon its harmful effects but based upon the fact that it was the drug of choice of mexicans and blacks. In fact the congressman who helped pass the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act later admitted that he had no factual basis for passing this law. Yes there are harmful aspects to marijuana, I personally believe that it can contribute to psychological problems, but only if those issues are preexisting, and only in a small number of people, and I am not speaking from a study on that aspect, just my own personal experience. This can be true of alcohol as well, and there is no doubt that marijuana is simply not as harmful as alcohol. Also by no means should a person who has cancer stop their treatment to rely simply on the "healing" powers of marijuana. But they can work cooperatively, of course the nausea that occurs as a result from chemotherapy can be treated with cannabis in many situations. Just that one simple thing provides a patient with the ability to continue their lives as normally as possible, and that is the ideal of medical treatment. We pump ourselves our children with all these drugs zanax, zoloft, adderall, ritalin and just because they are marketed to us makes one think they are safer than marijuana. No drug is safe for everyone, even if Pfizer has commercials for it.

You are so full of ****. Your "blog", whatever the **** it is, tells me you have been already killing brain cells by smoking the ****. You do not know what you are talking about, and if you want to remain ignorant, uninformed, and stupid(I mean stoned), thats your business. But suppose someone reads your "statement" who has been recently diagnosed with Cancer or Sickle cell and uses your "herbal" remedy, and avoids getting the treatment that is really needed for the illness. Do you have any sense of accountibilty about your statement and how it could affect others?

Marijuana smoking does not cause lung cancer, it can cause chronic bronchitis. I'd rather have gotten the sleep I got smoking pot with an occasional bout of bronchitis than killing myself because the pain i was in was winning. Alcohol causes more deaths per year than pot does. Breathing the air you breathe kills braincells, too, to whomever made THAT comment.

I would like to see the scientific evidence for that. Study results are mixed at best. While it can alleviate some symptoms, strong strains of cannabis have been known to cause schizophrenia and other mental problems.

cannabis definitetly cannot prevent sickle cell anaemia, as that is a genetic defect. as for cancer, anything you smoke can give you lung cancer, but you might be safe eating it. it is a great help with the side-effects of chemo, though, so imho cancer patients should have legal access to it. i'm all for the legalisation of pot, but shoddy research like you're posting here will not help our cause...

Of Course. The government does not want people to know these things. If we knew all this stuff, they would have to make pot legal. Which would cut down on the police force. It would also cut down the medical field, and we wouldn't have to put in millions towards healthcare. The government does not want this to happen, they would loose control. It would cut down the "governement jobs".

what about lung cancer from the harsh smoke.
You're not going to convince me that inhaling the smoke into your lungs does not damage the lung tissue.
Put a white hankerchief over the end of your joint and toke it a few times... that's the crap is left in your lungs.
not to mention that it kills brain cells.

Are you aware that smoking cannabis can cause lung cancer and other respiratory diseases? Are you aware that cannabis can induce schizophrenia? Are you aware that cannabis destroys brain cells? If you don't believe me, go research it for yourself. Oh, and by the way, I do believe that simple possession and use of cannabis ought to be legalized everywhere. It is no more harmful than alcohol or tobacco, so it is unfair to discriminate against cannabis users.
