Why do ppl thinkthat Muslims are taking over the world? I've been hearing this a lot on yahoo answers, and everyone seems to be afraid of them taking over. Is it true? Should we be afraid? Should we fight it? what do Muslim ppl think about this?

i'm a muslim.i live in Turkey.
i'm sitting on my chair answering questions,playing backgammon on the net.
i'm not wrapping bombs around my body...
i'm not forcing anybody to become muslim...
i'm studying international finance in my university with girls and boys together (as a normal school)(as all the other schools here)
i will brush my teeth and go to bed in 10 minutes.In the morning i will have a breakfast while reading the newspaper....

We don't all live in sand.We don't care what religion you follow.
When i hear about a psycho priest touching and doing bad things to children,i don't generalize it.Everybody i know is thinking like this and you know what...we are not a minority.This is the common sense in my country.
Fighting with muslims is not the solution.Fighting with ignorance is.We must spend all those money for education instead of weapons and bombs.
What could make you become a suicide bomber?NOTHING!!
By the way...''nothing'' is pretty popular in middle-east these days.
People don't get education,don't have money,home,jobs,proper infrastructure,hospital...NOTHING
What they only have is their belief to Allah. And some *astards are taking advantage of them and manipulating their beliefs.
Bombing the muslims won't ever finish the conflicts but education will.

The Moslem Umma is a very backward nation, ruled by desposts, authocrats and dictators, who have turned the land of Islam into a wasteland, where poverty, illiteracy and unemployment are the lot of the multitude. Once upon a time, Moslems ruled over a huge a vibrant and dynamic empire extending from China to Spain. Now they have assumed the role of the idiot of the globale village, laughed at and humiliated, their fabulous contributions to modern science and culture ignored, wiped out from history books. No option left it seems but this violent reaction called terrorism.

I don't think that anyone is seriously concerned about Muslims taking over the world. However you make some good points.
For instance which world religion has over 1billion devotees and is considered the fastest growing religion in the world? Right, Islam.
Which religion requires the spouse to convert to their religion? Which religion has many adherents who are willing to strap bombs to themselves to promote their religion? Which religion will say that anyone who leaves their religion must be killed? Which religion uses their holy writings to establish civil law? The answer to all these questions is Islam.
When taken together Islam is not just another religion, its a form of government, a life-style, a forced culture and it does appear threatening.

They have Large Families.
Where allowed many wives they have VERY LARGE families.
Their PURPOSE IN LIFE is to follow the
Quara'n and allah.
The book dictates that ALL MUST convert.
