Don't freak out, it's probably just benign cysts. They are very normal in girls going through puberty. But I would DEFINITELY get a second opinion

Lumpy, knotty breasts are normal for 13 years old. Your breast tissue is also normally very dense so a mammogram won't be very accurate. If your doctor was really concerned he/she would also order ultrasound and possible an MRI or CT scan.

I am sorry that you are seem to be so sure that you have breast cancer. Has someone close to you been diagnosed with it and you are afraid that because you might have it too. Normally breast cancer doesn't occur until the 50's or 60's if you are going to get it but I know of women in their 20's who have had it. The best thing for you to do is become familiar with your body and learn what is normal breast tissue for you and go from there. Perhaps when you have your mammogram, one of the techs can take some time to teach you some good self exam techniques, so you will feel more comfortable about everything.

Hi there. OK here is what I think and what I know. I was diagnosed when I was 27 with breast cancer. A stage 3. For almost 2 years I was misdiagnosed because of my age. They kept telling me that they were fibroids. which after they biopsied they finally found that they were wrong and I had to have a double mastectomy. Now I wish I would have gotten a second opinion. I might not have lost both my breasts if I would have just got a second opinion. If I were you I would request a biopsy just to be on the safe side.

I am sorry to hear this, I was 19 when I found a lump in my breast. It was just changes in the breast tissue that is with maturing. Normal changes. Breast cancer at your age, is very unlikely! That's good news! I would if you feel very unsure about your doctors opinion, go see a breast specialist. These types of doctors deal with breast cancer and would know, and they can even take a look at a mamogram your doctor has done, and you can request your doctor to send them your mamogram. These doctors take alook at your mamogram just like taking alook at an x-ray. I would try to relax your mind, because Breast cancer spreads fast when you are in your 50 and 60's. The likely hood of a lump being cancerous at age 13-30 is rare.
If you have a HMO insurance plan, talk to your doctor about referring you to a Breast Specialist, because HMO need a referall!!! Talk to your mom and Dad about this.

You need to look at your lifestyle to see what you are breathing and putting in your body . Go to a nutritional doctor that specializes in women. Analze your doctor and get another opinion.

Study about the breast anatomy ..
Check your environment where you live for any toxins that you may be coming in contact with. Also check the food that you are eating. If your food is packaged with chemical your body does not like to digest sometimes the chemicals will settle around in your body. Start with a good nutritionist and keep trusting you instincts that something may not be normal. Again studyin the anatomy of your body to better understand what the condition is.

Making sure you are eating and breathing and using the right products is important to understanding health. Prescription for nutritional healing-Balch and Balch helped me learn somethings.
Good luck lyly (deedee)

dear child If the Dr does not think it is Cancer Indeed that is NOT sad...Having a mammogram may come out negative may make you feel better...Some girls/women HAVE lumpy breasts but never have cancer...Calm yourself you are not the youngest person to get a mammogram...There are other tests your Dr. can perform ASK what they are and if mammogram should be positive ( unlikely) then s/he may do more tests Lumps can come in some breasts b4 your period don't freak you have been to dr and are having Mammogram that is all in the right direction stop worrying take a big breath and smile...

you say that your doctor does not believe it's cancer - that's a good thing! breasts have all sorts of lumps and bumps, perfectly normal!

the important thing is to check yourself every month and see if things change. it's difficult when you're a teen bc your breasts are still growing and may change quite a bit, but it's very unllikely that you have cancer at this young age.

good for you for keeping up with your health, but don't worry too much about this!

That is a sad thing? What would it make you happier if the doctor thought it was cancer? You probably have fibrocystic breast, not uncommon. You will need to watch this but this is not cancer, just uncomfortable. Be glad your doctor is being so careful.

You may have a condition which is commonly referred to as fibrocystic breasts or lumpy breasts. This is from tissue that gets hard but is not serious or a precursor to any cancer. You should however get another opinion from a specialist. There are surgeons who specialize in breast disease, (ie. Allison Estabrook in Manhattan, New York) and a competent gynecologist should be able to know if it needs further investigation, but if you feel you are not getting good care, get another opinion.

Well, the mammogram will help diagnose it if it is cancer. You may just have fibrous breasts - many women do. Those lumps and little bumps come and go. I had some lumps and went for an ultrasound - they were gone by then. Welcome to adulthood, my dear! I hope you are okay.
