Well for a starter, get straight A so you can go to any college and possibly get a scholarship. Many colleges are interested in students who do community service and volunteering.

Get as involved as you can in good extra curricular activites like Model UN, Keywanis, ASB and other volunteer organizations. I did some teen volunteer work with the United way back when I was in high schooland it did look good on my applications and later when I was older as well.

Focus on some specialist area of your subject you plan to take, or do some kind of scheme based around that subject.
