And with the crate training though the dog just goes nuts when he is left in the crate, tried everything to crate train him.

The dog was doing fine, until I moved into my house and then it all went to the pot.

Attention isn't the thing, just a lazy brother who is at the house anyway and doesn't bother to take him out. He plays with the dog. Any tips on how to crate train him, he is about 14 months now.

There are no shortcuts to training. You need to take him out to potty on a regular basis. If he can't be supervised he needs to be either in a crate or in a confined area.

I'd say training with a crate would be easiest since you are short on time, but it seems he doesn't like his crate now? Have you tried retraining him to his crate? It needs to be a place where he feels safe, and not a place where he thinks he's being ignored or punished.
If you have a hard time finding time to let him out during the day, I'd find a trusted neighbor to help you, or hire a pet walking service.
Good luck to you!

My puppy was very easy to train. We used a litter box, with a puppy pottie pad (pet stores) in the bottom. At first, we put her in every hour (just a few times did it) and when she went, we clapped and told her what a "good dog" she was. She has had VERY few accidents and uses her pottie box on her own now. No getting up at night or early in the morning. She is 13 weeks old and we've had her about a month. She is not crate trained since my spouse and I work different shifts, so someone is always home, but we do have one for her and have tried her in it. She is the sweetest puppy we've ever had - and the easiest to train!

This is how we trained our staffy, before sleep, after sleep when he drinks or eats take him outside for the toilet and stay with him until he does something, when he does lots and lots of praise, put paper down in the house where he has pee'd before as the smell will be there and then slowly move the paper towards the exit to your garden over a few days, before long he will be going to the door to go out, NEVER punish your dog for accidents in the house, this is a Big mistake and will take longer to rectify. hope this helps

I don't want to seem mean, but why do you have a Jack Russel terrier if you have limited time. You shoudn't have a dog at all, especially a dog like this.

Well there's this sertain kind of spray that you might be able to get at petco. The spray has a bad sent to it. And you know how dogs sniff before they go to the bathroom just spray it whereever the dog does it the most

we were told from our vet (we had a toy poodle a chihuahua and a bassett hound) to get a cage that they have just enough room to stand, sit and lay in keep them in the cage at alltimes other than going to the batroom outside for two to three weeks and it worked of course play and bond with them outside too!

1ST....YOU SHOULDN'T REALLY GET A DOG UNTIL YOU HAVE ADEQUATE TIME TO TRAIN AND SPEND WITH IT. 2ND..A JACK RUSSELL?? THEY ARE SOME OF THE MOST ATTENTION CRAVED DOGS OUT THERE. MY SUGGESTIONS....1 MAKE MORE TIME......2 GET RID OF THE DOG.ITS NOT FAIR TO HIM/HER.
