You should begin weaning her now. Delay the cup until JUST before bedtime. Refuse 2 cups. She's a BIG GIRL NOW. Reduce the amount little by little. However, some kids just won't let go of that tiny piece of infancy. My grandson was 5 and half before he stopped and that was because his cousins (same age) didn't use cups. Maybe you have that as a tool. Also, think about her dental health. Try to change her drink to something sugar free esp if she doesn't brush well.

My Daughter doesn't use it or have it with her while sleeping. I just put a sippy cup of water on table for to drink in the middle of the night and I don't have to worry about spills. She is almost four and still has not wet the bed and has been doing this since 2. She gets up and goes potty in the middle of the night by herself.

a cup of milk before bedtime shouldnt hurt at all, at any age. warm milk can actually act as a seditive. if she is potty training, it could lead to some accidents though. but she should not be taking a sippy to bed, drinking while laying down like that can lead to ear infections...not to mention the potenial mess.

I would stop it now. She doesn't really need it, she's 3, it's just a habit at this point. I would go cold turkey as soon as you can. It will be harder the longer you wait. My daughter never needed a bottle or cup to sleep, but she did have a paci and we broke that habit when she was 2. Good luck.

It is really never a good idea, unless it is water. You know baby bottle rot. dosn't have to be a bottle . A sippy cup & milk can do & did it at 2 years to one of my daughters front teeth. Not bad but she needed a "Baby" root canal. Break it

Now! Going to bed w/bottles/cups promotes tooth decay, big time. Try water, it may help her stop the habit. You may have a week of crying, but it's so much better than cavities at a young age!

A child should probably not have a sippy cup until their about old enough to go to kindergarten but even if she goes to kindergarten doesn't mean she has to stop drinking in a sippy cup its her choice but try to get her to stop before kindergarten

I would say try to to break her from it now, My kids stopped at age 2, but, all kids are differant, I wouldn't do it cold turkey, if she drinks it before falling to sleep, just tell her," when it is gone, there is no more, untill morning" I wish you the best of luck, it is not easy to break a habbit.

Right now is a GREAT time to stop. If she must have one then put water in it. That's how kids get bottle rot in their front teeth. That and taking bottles to bed. They fall asleep with the liquied pooled around their teeth. That will eat a kids teeth faster than anything!
