Look in the mirror....seek out what you see. Ask am I polite, am I in tune to family and girlfriend, do I look like most clean cut guys, do I have a sense of humor, ask why you feel less confident than you do...and reply out loud your answer.
What is holding you back is you. You do not see yourself worth on a level it should be. You are an individual with your wonderful traits that no one else can measure to. You are unique..made in the image of God
like all of us. You are special to many yet you fail to see the wondrous things about you. You are a equal and above most, so open your heart and say, that's confidence...that's me.

Don't be afraid to fail. I have found out through my experiences that when I worry the most, usually it turns out bad. When I do stuff right of the bat, do much better. If it doesn't turn out the way you planned, don't worry, you may have second shot at it. Look at yourself in the mirror and find your best attributes. Make a list at what you're good at and capitalize on that. Don't worry about something that may really be out of your reach. Strive to be successful at what's accessible to you. Good Luck and Walk Tall.

Whenever I feel that way, I write down affirmations on post it notes. Stuff like "I am a strong person" "I treat people with kindness" "I deserve good things in my life" or whatever works for you. If you can't think of anything, ask your girlfriend what she thinks your best attributes are.

Put these post it notes by your mirror and when you see them each day, look yourself in the eye and say it out loud. Repeat enough times and you will believe in yourself.

I actually somewhat know how u feel. Ppl perceive me as confident and outgoing but in reality I'm pretty timid and quiet. I think u just have 2 accept and thus love urself. Good luck w/ that!

Excercise and lots of it. you will feel good and confident after every excercise session. Get some good friends who don't put you down but build up your character. Have goals and work towards them and when you achieve a goal you will feel more confident about yourself and your abilities.

There is only one cure for this condition. Try, fail, adjust , try again, fail, adjust, try again, etc., until you succeed. There is no replacement for persistence.

If you're concerned about acceptance of others, same thing, but try a new set of others with every trial. This is the success of famous movie stars and comics.

there's a great book on this called, Esteemable Acts that might be helpful. . .

also --do volunteer work somewhere. . . look for ways to be a joy in someone else's life who needs someone (like an elderly person with no family, for example.) and try to be helpful to them. This may help.

Maybe it goes back to your childhood. You would benefit from a few weeks of therapy....if you get the right therapist you can be on the right track in no time.

Realize that the only power or strength you have is not from yourself but given to you by God, and therefore abide in His will and whatever you ask you shall recieve... including asking for confidence.
