I am appending below an extract from website -
http://www.wisegeek.com/what-is-mangosteen-juice.htm
about its effect for treatment for cancer.
The mangosteen (XanGo) is the size of an apple, with a thick rind and interior white segments like an orange, and large seeds. As with many fruits, the mangosteen is rich in vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin C, B1, B2, B6, potassium, iron, and calcium. The mangosteen is not widely available in America, so the juice must be imported. While nutritionists have not tested the countless claims of mangosteen juice bottlers, many companies profess that this "Queen of Fruit" can cure everything from cancer to dysentery to bacterial infections. They base this on a few sporadic studies in the laboratory, or on animals, that have shown positive benefits of doses of xanthones and antioxidants, compounds found in various fruits.
I do not discourage you to take this juice but it is yet to be established it can fully cure cancer. Lo of money and time is spent by so many institutions/doctors/wellwishers for finding a cure for cancer but in vain. Still it remains killer disese. Please note it may be one way to take some precaution or treatment but it is not the compleate treatment.
I know a patient of Prostrate cancer, where the doctors removed the propstrate glands and testies and the patient is fine now.
You must undergo the 3 treatments - surgery, chemotherapy and radiation - When you have got the unfortunate discease why get scared for treatment or its side effects.
Do not worry and go for treatment as per your oncologist.

There is a lot of information on the XanGo website, however, have you checked to see if there is any actual data to back up the propaganda? I have used XanGo and I had more energy, my thought process was better and overall I felt better. Is it a cure for Cancer? I think that is something you would have to decide for yourself and would only know after trying it. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Sorry to hear about your diagnosis. My mother recently died of cancer and completed chemo and radiation. Unfortunatly neither helped much. They really just brought her immune system down. She began drinking Mangosteen and eating only organic food, ie: no dairy, meat, or processed foods. I believe it was called the "Hallelujah Diet", but I could be mistaken. But not only did this diet make her have much more energy, she was able to live longer than expected. Of course doctors do not recommend not having chemo, but I believe this is what saved my mom from suffering. Good luck to you!

I have never heard of this juice but tart cherries or the juice is supposed to be loaded with goodies. I'm not sure any of this actually works but in most cases they couldn't hurt. Good luck and don't give up.
