(Ha - "Atheist's Nightmare" - did they play the side stage at Lolapolooza this year?)

OMG, did you ever see the video of those guys describing how the banana is proof of intelligent design?
The first time I saw it, I thought it was a total spoof... that these guys were ripping on the IDmovement by pretending to be complete idiots.
But half-way through I realized...they weren't kidding! They really were trying to say that the shape of the banana was clearly evidence of god trying to design something a kin to drive-through fruit.
It's just one more lesson: sometimes it's hard to tell the difference between fundamentalists and people trying to spoof fundamentalists. It's hard to create a more absurd spoof of something that is already so absurd.
CJunk: that's too funny. You had the same experience that I did with this.

I'm an atheist, and I eat bananas all the time. Not bad except they raise your blood sugar too much and can be constipating. I wouldn't call them a nightmare though. Teaching religious mythology as science to our nation's school children.. now that's a nightmare.

Yes I liked that claim, made me laugh for weeks. They never explained why it doesn't grow naturally all around the world or why it doesn't provide all of the essential amino acids and proteins required for the human body though. Or why this doesn't apply to more nutrious foods such as deer (which annoyingly run away when you want to eat them).
I am waiting for the follow up to explain these further points!

I actually saw the video once and thought that it wasa parody on christian science.
After a while I found out it was legit christian teachings
I am atheist. Its not my Nightmare, I thought it was a comedy.

The really funny part is that that the modern varieties of banana were made by artificial selection. They were designed to be a perfect food- by humans!
