They also require faith.

BTW, I'm an atheist and not looking for a sermon, just Agree or Disagree, with a brief explanation if you like. Thank you.

Disagree.

From what I've heard, faith is all that's required to qualify that in which you've put your faith as a religion. Just a religion. I've never heard of any claim asserting those religions to be "true", just... existent. They might be personal truths, but not necessarily Truth with a big T (assuming absolutes even exist).

I'm also an atheist and find the whole concept of "faith alone constitutes religion" absolutely bonkers. If I BELIEVE that House is the best television show ever, and have FAITH in that belief, does "Houseism" now exist as a religion? What about the BELIEF that Orange Fanta is the best soft drink? "Orange Fantaism"?

There are so many other necessary criteria when it comes to classifying religion... people are just quick to label what they perceive as the "opposition" with any self-possessed characteristics in the hope that the "opposition" will back off for fear of attacking itself in any way.

So... as you can see... not everything in which one has faith is true religion or even religion at all. Sometimes it's just an opinion or position.

Christians believe that the faith required isn't just a general faith in something. They believe you have to have faith in Jesus and he saves, etc. So they do not believe the others religions are right because according to them, the only religion with the correct faith is Christianity.

So whatever it may be that makes something a different religion, it doesn't matter because that religion is wrong because it is not Christianity, from their point of view that is.

In Christianity guy possibilities and chooses parts of God's notice because of the fact the reality that he needs. Mature Christians are complicated to locate. all of it boils all the way down to - Who determines actuality? some Christians decide to be evolutionists additionally, yet evolution robs God of His glory. God says His notice is actuality, so a Christian won't be able to have self assurance in evolution. The Catholic Church is so steeped in custom that they even kiss statues on the ft and the Pope runs around thinking he's Christ on earth. Episcopal bishops think of God helps sexual immorality while God's notice of course states that God would not. The Mormons in basic terms exchange God's notice to believe what Joseph Smith concept. The Islamic Muslims in basic terms exchange God's notice to believe what Muhammad concept. Jehovah Witnesses have not got self assurance Jesus became God in human flesh. The Jews of Judaism rejected Jesus even nonetheless Jews wrote the recent testomony bearing directly to Christ Jesus. guy is commanded to appreciate the notice of God. God created guy and God left guy an education e book. If the Pharisees had usually used the notice of God they might have acknowledged Jesus. the comparable is genuine right now.

There are other things that many other religions require. Some do require faith, but others require idol worship, offerings, etc in order to keep in the good graces of their "god" or "goddess." Not every religion says that people need to have faith.

I agree to a certain point.
Faith is a requirement, but I think everyone has Faith in something or someone, it all works out in the end, one way or another.

Faith comes into play even in secular thinking....but the issue is what you have faith in....

I am sure you have faith that you car will start when you get in it...or that you will have rain if you see dark rain clouds in the sky... much of faith is based on past positive experience... and some is based on hope, which is also based on past experience. I am a scientist. I have faith in my own techniques, and that I will do a good job in my work.....we all have a certain level of faith...i believe a friend if they promise to help me... that is faith also...

christians are referring to faith in God, that he will be there as a source of strength and help, that his promises are true and will come to pass.

Faith has to do with trust and reliance. Faith in order to be faith has to be IN something; it has to have an OBJECT, or it's not faith as it is properly understood in the Christian context. Also, faith means something BASED ON WHAT IT IS PLACED IN.

In everyday life, when one sits down in a chair, one is exercising faith in the ability of that chair to hold him/her. If the chair is solid and well built, then that faith is well placed. If that chair is falling apart, then that faith is not well placed.

Hope this helps as a practical illustration. Faith in the spiritual context works the same way as faith in the everyday practical sense.

Faith isn't all that is required. John 3:16 says if you believe in the Lord, you have access to eternal life - it doesn't guarantee it. In Matthew and John, Jesus tells us we have to lead a good life and do what the Father wants us to do.

It is not Faith that is required. You have your facts incorrect. It is the belief in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior that is required and it is the only thing that is required. Why don't you read and STUDY the Bible? I challenge you to do so.

I would never tell anybody that their religious belief is wrong. I know what's in my heart and no one could make me change my mind, so I don't think it's right to tell someone that their beliefs are wrong and mine are right. I believe that's what's great about America. Freedom of speech & freedom of religion. I believe that's what we are fighting for right now...our freedom to express ourselves without ridicule or prejudice, unfortunately some people don't agree.
