Whether you are on medication of any kind or any combination, do you ever feel you must constantly monitor your moods? Do you feel a hyper-sensitivity to what is going on with you and how it may be affecting others? We all know how fast our moods can change, but is it a healthy self-awareness or does it become an obsession? Any thoughtful remarks appreciated. I don't want to hear from non-bipolars because they don't know what we experience on a daily basis. Thanks.

I don't know that I monitor my moods. I know that I make myself aware of them. Meaning, if I catch myself"snappy", then I have to take a minute and "check" myself. Sometimes, I apologize 10 times a day for being grumpy or snapping, etc. If I find myself having a day like that, I take another"anti-anxiety" as prescribed and take a 15 minute time out. I like the sound of the ocean waves so I have a cd that plays that. The truth is, we have to be aware of our moods and how we respond to others because although our family understands our illness, it does'nt make up for the pain we may cause.

I am very sensitive to my moods and how they affect others. So sensitive that they labeled me with borderline personality, also.

I'm sensitive but I've learned to shield myself from any influence. This isn't a thing I have to think about.
