Assuming you are asking a serious question...
Jesus is God and he did walk on water. However, he walked on water as a means to demonstrate his power over the natural world. We humans are not God and do not have the power to control the natural world. It would be akin to saying why doesn’t a painter teach someone blind from birth how to paint the color blue. It is something beyond his physical ability, just like walking on water is beyond ours.

One has nothing to do with the other. The people of New Orleans AREN'T GOD for one. Two, they're living in a frickin' bowl. I hate to be that person, but it's not like they didn't know it was a great possibility. Sometimes God takes His hand away from his children when they don't want Him anymore. You can't have your cake and eat it too. You should want to walk in a righteous manner and have a sincere desire to know God in order to receive His blessings. Of course, He is a merciful god, so there's no telling just how much He DID help the people of New Orleans, even those who weren't asking for His help.

If you're read the book about giving a mouse a cookie then you'll understand. Once he shows all those poeple how to walk on water, then they'll be all like showing off to the rest of the world. He'll have to give them all different powers, then they'll all fight about who's the coolest. Once they've done that, and everyone's dead, jesus will just look at himself in the last clean river and be like, "dag, yo".

But Jesus is not God. He is God's son. He can't show them how to walk on water because you can't teach people. He had powers. The people of New Orleans are ordinary people. Anyway, maybe God drowned those people on purpose. Like how he destroyed cities because there was too much sin. You never know. :)

We can't save ourselves...that's why God sent His Son Jesus!
Besides...He gave them many warnings.
There's this little box that makes funny sounds...and you can see humans in it. It has different channels...it's called a TV. How long and how many warnings were put out on that little annoying box?
Well, let's say they didn't own a TV...There are these other little boxes...kind of old technology. Has a couple of dials on it with a speaker...what are those things called...radio. Yes, a radio.
How many warnings went out on that...???
Then there are these people that live next to you, neighbors...yes, that's it neighbors. Perhaps you even work with some of them...they talk, they gossip...I'm sure at least one of them heard about a big storm coming...
Hmmm...how many more warnings would someone need?
Don't get me wrong, I feel for the victims of Katrina...but your silly question leaves me to wonder about you...
Blessings...

It would take too long for them to learn.
But, today in the news ... A pastor said he would walk on water like Jesus did, and he drowned.
Here is the article.

He told all the people of the world how to walk on water. WE are the ones unable to keep our eyes on Him long enough to meet the challenge.

that's a stupid question. Jesus is not God they are different people so read your bible before you ask another stupid question.God helps those who helps themselves and the people chose not to leave new Orleans before the hurricane so it was a choice they made. you should never question God because he knows what he is doing.
