UN isn't going to do anything, Sensible members such as the US, UK, and Israel won't ignore the threat that Iran poses.

The disgusting little dweeb is more than whacked, he has a death wish, as well! I will say this though, he has made the UN look even more neutered than before they even got involved. Kofi Annan is such a paper tiger it's ridiculous. This poor slob just doesn't have the credentials to be throwing his weight around like some tough guy. John Bolton, on the other hand, is up or the task, and when John says something, people listen!

This thing can't be ignored, and we must do something punitive and hopefully effective like tell Russia and China to butt out now, or do something constructive to defuse the situation.

As it is, all these two arrogant trouble makers do is neutralize the efforts of the UN, with their diplomacy angle and their refusal to put on sanctions that have teeth.. Like diplomacy hasn't been tried. They have an agenda, and I believe it is one that will not be helpful to Israel, the UN, or the US.

You're right about the deadline because the paper tiger doesn't mean what he says. I believe it will be up to the US to do damage control, and regain any of the momentum, that we once had.

The deadline is over and the world is supposed to take action against mullahs and yet Solana and Europe's foreign minsters ( EU Trio ) are talking about new rounds of talks with mullahs!!
I am led to believe that EU in principle likes a nuclear Iran and is only pretending to be worried about nuclear bomb in the hands of mullahs. Russia and China are for sure loving that.

Yes. It means the UN will extend the deadline. And if Iran does not meet that deadline, THEY WILL EXTEND IT AGAIN!

Iran should be very afraid of the UN. They are really good at extending deadlines.

Nothing will happen. We'll impose economic sanctions, the common Iranian folk will starve, and the leaders of Iran will continue to give the world the finger and produce illegal nuclear weapons. As a species, we are circling the drain. Give it about another ten years, we'll all be toast.

It might now, especially since we are finally backing our word with Iraq and their deadline. Remember - Iraq got like 10 yrs to NOT go along with diplomacy?

I don't think we will make the same mistake with Iran.

No, the UN CANT do anything. If members like us in the UK, America and Israel are just going to ignore it when we want to, why should Iran do as it says?

Its just typical double-standards on our behalf

No Iran is just stalling so they can build the bomb. The UN is worthless and corrupt.
