I've managed to offend at least one person here, without meaning to, by pointing out their question is actually a "nonsense question". I did not mean to insult or ridicule anybody, or put them down at all. I was just pointing out that the question was unanswerable because of it's content and construction.

Lisa, if you're reading this, I apologise. I did not mean to insult you.

How many people understand the term "nonsense" in a grammatical sense?

"What's the difference between a duck?"

That's a nonsense question because there's no real way of answering it sensibly. (Okay, the answer is "One leg is the same" but that's not very sensible either, now is it?)

Well lets see...
My question was, without quoting the bible, tell me why you think gay marriage should be illegal? I was trying to point out the separation of church and state. And maybe I was offended. This is exactly what you said...

"Your question is impossible to answer. You made a general moral inquiry into the reasonings behind a certain principle (no gay marriage), and automatically excluded the moral code as an acceptable answer. How does one answer nonsense questions?"

What you seem to not understand is it is possible to have a "moral code" and not believe in the bible. I for one am a moral person and I am an Atheist. Please check out the best answer I choose for my question about gay marriage. It was a very good one.

Wow,this is a hard one because some people have a different mindset and what we define as nonsense is a reasonable question to them.
To me silly questions?
1.What shall I wear today?
2.Where shall we go tonight?
3. Do you like this film?
etc etc etc those are actually better examples of the cack I have been seeing here lol.

Nonsense question. " What's the difference between a duck?"
The answer is a nonsense phrase. " One foot's both the same!"
This is gramattical nonsense.

To me, nonsense means something makes no logical sense when proper logic is applied. For example, the question "Does God exist?" has no logical answer, as there is evidence positive and negative to both sides. That is why i just ignore it.

I seem to run into these same issues. Why everybody so damned uptight? These people need to loosen up and I thin we may be just the folks to do the loosening!

This is the most nonsensical question I've ever seen.
