Although the symptoms were documented in old Egypt 1000 BC,
the word "schizophrenia" is less than 100 years old. However the disease was first identified as a discrete mental illness by Dr. Emile Kraepelin in the 1887 dementia praecox (the name was later changed to "schizophrenia" by Eugen Bleuler)
Why do you want to change it again?

I don't really think it needs a new name. There are different types of schizophrenia also, do you want to change all of the names?
