Dear Paladin:
I can say in all Truth, I am not only better as a person, but I am not even the same person! After a process that Jesus and the Holy Spirit put me through (over a five-year period) to clean out all thoughts of the Past, by causing me to understand things like: Past family dynamics, friendship dynamics, "love relationship" dynamics, and work relationship dynamics with all the people who peopled my life - I finally knew what being washed clean actually means. This five-year period was within a span of 21 years of Relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
All old perceptions - the way in which my individual personality perceived life by processing events in it's own unique way of thinking, thereby causing those perceptions - were altered and changed during the 5-year cleansing process:
No dark corners will be left in your human mind - for the Holy Spirit shall shine His light upon all situations and all circumstances of your life. You will look at each interaction together, and come to see it as He sees it. "If you see differently from the Holy Spirit - you are in error." To see and understand clearly - you should share the Christ Vision (His way of seeing) and re-interpret your life's events through the Holy Spirit's Knowledge. This occurs when you have a Relationship with Them that uses the full scope of the Partnership between the Holy Spirit and Jesus. They work inside of your mind - in tandem.
"If you would teach those who suffer, you must speak their language." From these five years of my strongest, most potent lessons, I learned the meaning of compassion. I originally had reserved it for animals - not humans! Now it's for both !!
They taught me that being sympathetic towards others is not true compassion. They had me look up the word one day and They showed me that the first part of the word "com" as a prefix is from Latin - meaning SHARED or jointly. The second part of the word is passion - meaning the common crosses we all have to carry in this life : From Latin pati meaning to suffer ; those common and shared events and dynamics we all come through . . .loss of jobs, sometimes loss of children, divorces, etc. They instructed me to go deeper into what the other person is experiencing instead of just telling them I can "sympathize." Share the passion of common experience with them.
Jesus and the Holy Spirit also went to work on my habit of modifying slightly or exaggerating as I relay to others events or occurrences I have witnessed or personally experienced. This is something most people do without thought. They said They would notify me every time something wasn't relayed precisely as it had unfurled before me. In due time, I found I spoke with absolute accuracy and was surprised that in learning this - I felt more "weight" or authority when I spoke to people. They could not find errors in my relaying events to them and became more respectful toward me when I said something to them. Confidence is a good word for this area of inter-relating to people.
Lastly, I have found all my old priorities were filled with emptiness by COMPARISON to what Jesus and the Holy Spirit have filled me up with, in recent years. I am letting go of this world. I am Returning.

I'm much better off than I was ten years ago. For starters I am not a teenager now as I was then. And now I finally found my true spiritual place, where back then I was confused and constantly searching. I've also matured much more.

I am a better person, at least it is easier to live with myself. I am less frightened and less intimidated by mainstream stuff and people's opinion of me. I don't believe everything I am told anymore. I do not go along and agree just to keep the peace. I have pursued my spiritual bliss, dreamed dreams and seen angels. Things that would never have happened if still spiritually bound and gagged.

I used to anger easily - especially on this site. I would lose my temper and defend my beliefs with harsh words. One day I realized that Jesus never spoke to anyone with harsh words or threats of hell. He didn't scare people into believing. He showed love and compassion for human beings. I began to do the same and now I'm on a mission to get all Christians to spread the Word of God with love, not hate. We should know the Word, live the Word, and spread the Word of the Lord. We can help more people seek the Lord by setting a good Christian example than by scaring anyone.
