My cat keeps trying to move one kitten at a time but can't carry them to what ever destination she's going. My friend fiquered she was trying to take them outside one at a time. However she keeps looking at us at cooing, meowing, and what seems to be begging us to do something. What does this behavior exihbit? Please email me at babycattos@yahoo.com if you need further information in order to offer me some insight.

The kittens are between 8-9 weeks old. But they are still very, very small. I would be surprized if they each weighed a pound.

Here is a good Q & A Site, that offers several solutions:
http://www.kittencare.com/askKC_Mother_Behavior.html
One Answer:
Mother cats will move their kittens around if they believe that they are in danger or if there is too much light. First-time mothers are more anxious than others and their moving kittens from place to place will endanger them if they are placed in a cold location. Your best bet is to keep mom and her kittens where they are and not create too much noise or distractions. The children should look at the kittens but should not yet handle them or make any noise near them. Mom needs to care for them free of worry.
Second Answer:
It is natural for mother cats to move recently born kittens. Mother cats do this a few days after birth so as to throw potential predators off the scent, thus ensuring that they do not become some other animal’s dinner. Anxious first-time mothers do this more frequently. Mom will move them one-by-one to their new location where she feels they will be safe.

After a few weeks the mother cat will attmpt to move to a new nesting site for her kittens. Every cat in the whole world does this. She is trying to keep her family safe. It seems she already selected a spot outside. Try to make a new area of your house available to her and maybe she'll move there. You may also have upset her nest and she feels she has to move. Give her a new box or a new room and then let her move and dont bother her for a while. Poor mom.

She probably wants to hide them from prying eyes. Mama cats get very anxious when you handle their babies too much, but they relax after the kittens are a little older and become more adventurous. You didn't mention how old they were - are their eyes open yet? If they aren't, she's being protective and if you handle them too much it's not good for them. Try to help her put them somewhere, under a bed, or in a closet where she feels in control. Good luck!

she wants to move them to a different place but she probably doesnt know where.
if they are around 4 weeks old, it may be better if she keeps them outside but my cat always wanted her kittens inside regardless of their age.
find a place that is safe, sheltered and clean where she can keep her kittens, inside your home or in your yard. make sure the kittens cant really escape but that the nest (the area) is larger than the previous one.
on the otherhand...you could put the other kittens in a box and follow her as she leads you to whatever place she wants to take them and see if its ok.

She obviously is asking you to help her move them, as they are too big for her to be able to do. Give her a nice padded box near where she is moving all the kits, and then observe her to make see if she feels she needs to move them further.
Something is WRONG with your cat's and kit's nutrition if they are not two pounds at 8 weeks of age. Or your cat was too immature for breeding. Please get them all spayed as they are already older than needed for surgery.

If there is a lot of commotion in your house, maybe human children, she could just want to move them to a quieter place. Please don't let her take them outside. They could grow up feral or not at all. There are a lot of dangers outside for grown up cats.

SHE MIGHT JUST WANT THEM WHERE THE FAMILY CAN'T MESS WITH THEM ALL THE TIME. CATS ARE KNOWN TO MOVE THEIR KITTENS MORE THAN ONCE.
