Um...legality has nothing to do with it. If you're asking 'will the Catholic Church allow this' then the answer is "yes". Go to your Pastor and talk with him. He can tell you about what baptismal classes you will need to take in order for your children to be baptised into the Faith. Anyone in your Parish office should be able to help you as well. Most churches that I know of require that you are an "active" member of the church for a certain length of time first. Good luck and God bless!

It is not necessary. The Catholic Church considers any baptism that is done with water and in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as being a valid baptism.

Your children have already been baptized and Baptism is a sacrament that is received only once in a person's life

It depends on how the Church of England christening was performed.

Catholics believe strongly in one baptism.

If your children were baptized with water and the words, "[Name], I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit," then the Catholic Church fully recognizes their baptisms and will not allow them to be baptized again.

If they were christened in some other way, then they can be baptized for the first time.

With love in Christ.

--Is Catholic--

No that is not legal. It is completely against the Catholic Faith to re-baptize. This is the traditional faith handed down from the Apostles and is reflected in the creed "I BELIEVE IN....ONE BAPTISM".

What you may ask for though, is a conditional baptism. That is completely fine to ask for. A conditional baptism is basically "If you have not been baptized, then I baptize you in the name of ...." Everything else follows as normal. Typically this is not a public ceremony.

It's unnecessary. Go through RCIA and they will be confirmed Catholic. The Baptism of the Church of England is recognized by the Catholic Church.

Baptism in the Anglican Church is recognized by the Catholic Church(as are the Baptisms in the vast majority of Protestant churches).

Therefore, there is no need to have your children re-Baptized.

Do they want to be baptised in the Catholic Church? I wouldn't baptise my children; it is their personal choice and should never be anyone else's choice. No one should ever shove you to get baptised, especially in another church when they have already been baptised. Baptism is a personal choice and should be used when they understand what it means.
