You don't say what the side effects you are experiencing are. I can tell you that I was on paraxotene for some 18 months (severe panic attacks, hyperventilation, freaking out in public places, severe depression, eating disorder) and decided that the effects it provided for me were only masking my real problems and giving more different problems that only contributed to a negative outlook on life.
I was tired all day and was awake periodically every night, and because the tablets mask the negative emotions they also masked any positive. I was an empty shell and just existing in a robotic form.
I hated that, I needed to feel to make myself better.
I decided that these tablets were not actually helping me, just covering up so I slowly weaned myself off them and looked at natural vitamin and mineral therapy.
I now sleep right through the night, I have regained emotional responses such as short bursts of happiness, excitement and anticipation. These new found experiences of positive emotions having been deprived of them for so long are better than any drug I have been prescribed. Of course my original problems are still real though I am fully aware of them and have decided to approach them in a day by day and sometimes a minute by minute process and I am better now than I ever was on the tablets.
I have started up my own business, I am leading a successful life and I chose to get better.
I sincerely wish you well. X

Paroxatine is not a good drug to come off of.....you must if you are having adverse symptoms....go immediately to your doctor....do not under any circumstances stop taking it suddenly....have a chat with the GP....if he or she is any good...they will wean you from them safely and slowly.....please don't just stop them on your own....it's very dangerous.

Sometimes, this just happens for no particular reason. Have you tried any other types of anti-depressants? Maybe speak to your doctor, maytbe drugs isnt the way to go and some counselling would help?
I often speak to patients who have been using drugs for a time and then start getting the side effects, its quite common, give your doctor a call.

I don't know anything about this particular drug, but depending on how long you have used it will determine its effects, our bodies adapt to continuous drug use which is why you would normally be better off changing your diet and exercising, it makes you feel a lot better and can cure a lot more than any medication.
