I understand. I'm a Catholic too, and I adore that we have Mary, a mother -- I'm a mother, too. So much easier for me to grasp. Do I believe she was a virgin? No. (OK, I'm not a very devout Catholic). But to your question, I will tell you, I find a lot of comfort in the meditation that reciting the rosary gives me. We don't worship her, we pray for her intercession...just like all the saints.

You seem to have a common sense approach to the Mary thing.
God told us exactly what you said. The Mary being holy thing is a part of the Catholic religion that was put there by the Roman Emperor Constantine in the fourth century, along with the statues, the cross, the trinity, the immortal soul, and a myriad of other things that he brought into his new religion to placate all the pagans he insisted belong to his new church.

I believe in the virgin Mary, old testament prophet declared"Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son,and they shall His name Immanuel.{ which translates God with us} The conception was by the Holy Spirit.

Mary found favor with God. But,she was just a human. It was only thru the mother Mary & the Holy Spirit, could Jesus,be both God and man and thus make atonement for sin. Also the royal lineage of King David, came through His mother Mary,

You are right to say Mary should not be worshipped. She later had other children with Joseph,so she was no longer a virgin. And the Lord God said 3. You shall have no other gods before me. Verse 4. talks about not making for yourself a graven image, and bow down to them nor serve them.

I sincerely doubt you are a Catholic, because if you were, you would know that Catholics worship only God.

We venerate and honor Mary because we know her son Jesus does, as well.

We don't worship pictures of anyone, either.

Catholic or not, you need to get some help with this.

I understand that God has filled your heart with a ray of light, don't let it diminish. Be unbiased and research Islam. I'm all ears if you need my assistance. It says in Quran "Allah has no father, and no son" clearly. Even if you find the same thing in the Commandments, doesn't your mind tickle you? Don't you think it's weird that Jesus's words were altered so much that you have so many versions of Bible and there's only one version of Quran, word by word saved since the past 14 centuries?

Not a single verse of Quran has ever been changed, unlike Bible whose words or verses have often been modified to make it look like suitable for the current era. Think about it. Jesus was a prophet of Allah, just like David or Solomen. None of them ever claimed divinity, all of them instructed their followers to worship only one God.

If you seriously believe that Jesus washed all of Christians' sins by shedding his own blood, then what are we doing in this world? Did we come here just to indulge in luxuries and stab our own brothers in the back? If that's so and we get luxuries in this world, then what's the meaning of sending us to Paradise when we're living in one? Ponder over this matter!!

wow, you are asking a very good questions. I think you have to seek the truth for yourself. I would love to share my opinion on the topic, but it would be so much better for you to scream...Eureka!!! So, I will say this. Examine your faith. Step outside the Catholic box, and seek the face of God from a non-denominational standpoint. You may find that the truth is exactly what you thought it to be, or you may find that the teachings you grew up on were correct...either way. The new understanding will be yours, not that of someone else's.

God Bless,

You're right. We shouldn't worship Mary. Jesus is lord and we should worship him. Just my opinion, and nothing personal...but I've always thought that catholics put too much emphasis on Mary.

God bless you.

Honey! I am a catholic too but in no way do I believe in the virgin Mary. The catholics invented it to give females a roll model.

“Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.”
Buddha

If it doesn't make sense it probably isn't true. Please use the reason and intellect that God gave us to judge for yourself the validity of what you are told to believe.
