Yes, I would. They're not entitled to offer their clients anything except their salon service. A cupcake or a cookie may not be an expensive treat, but at least they offered you something. A
simple "thank you" or "no thank you" is all it takes.

yes, that would be nice. But if you're in that business you must be aware that clients who frequent high end salons really care about their appearance and fatty treats might be a temptation many try to abstain from. Offer some diet sodas (diet pepsi, 7-up, Dr. pepper), and bottled water and maybe some candy, like sugar-free werthers (one of my favs).

The place that does my hair (just an average place, not high end) has a table up front by the waiting area with a coffee machine, a water cooler, and usually some sort of cookiees or crackers as a snack while people wait.

The gesture is nice... but I would never take it... the chances of hair floating over to it and landing on it would be enough to turn me off of the food and the salon.... if you must do that, pick something that is wrapped seperately that they can take with them after getting the hair done.

Yes, why you don't, it's like in the movies where they serve you wine and stuff except its cookies/cupcakes, but still the same meaning. Wow you must do your hair like every week.

sure...yummy :P but then it may take away from the ambience of the salon itself being high end and what not, so I guess they should be fancy pastries or choclates or something :)
