Hong Kong is the Haven of shopping

Clothing is very cheap - I do not know your size - Chinese people is very petite. I don't know you can find your size

If you need facial product - there is a store called " SASA "
you can find it everywhere

Seven eleven is everywhere.

Donot change US $ in the airport or any exchange store - change your money in the bank - they only charge you $HK 50
and the rate is excellent.

Bring $100.00 US bill - is better than bills under $20

Cell phone is very easy to get - you can bring your cell phone - but don't forget HK is 220 or 240 volts . - US is 110 volts

Hairdryer or Iron may not work in HK

Living space is very small. - because land is verrrrrrrrrrrrrrrry expensive - it sold by 1 square foot

when you come back after 1 year - you may have a lot of things to bring back - check with the airlines - last time I paid US $100 for 72 pound for on luggage and the luggage come back with me - it is cheaper than send it through the Post Office.

if you have any other question about HK - please ask

Hi, just bring necessities and travel light. You can get practically everything conveniently there. there are many modern shopping centres and malls and the price is not that high. Especially when they have sales going on. Especially during their annual sale country wide, in Jul-Aug (you just missed this year's but should be able to catch next one) There are seasonal sales anyway.

So might be good to go home with a new wardrobe. Plus you will have enough space while you are staying there.

since you're staying for a year, two large suitcases shouldn't be too much. however, don't pack with the mindset that you're going to the middle of no where; it's also okay to pack lightly, because you can always buy whatever you need, and the prices are (generally) cheaper anyway.
