I was woundering why the prices in shops have gone up, argos's price's have gone up and asda's have, whys this?

probably due to the rise in petrol..it costs more for transport companies to move there goods now..

Its called Economies Of Scale.

The more a company orders, the more discount they get.
A small store buys a little at a time and so pays full price, however, superstores buy in massive bulk orders and so get discounts.
Plus, a dealer will give discounts to companies that order more simply because they rely on them to keep up their massive orders in order to survive.

petrol will maybe make a very small difference, but not a noticable one

because they all have to make a profit somehow to get the money back that they spend on refurbishment's and they have to pay their staff's wages.

oil has risen and the distribution costs of getting it to the shops as well
